Thank You Card

Greetings! Saturday is my day to share a Funky Fossil Designs project. I've used their A5 Woodcut Birds Clear Stamp Set, the Vintage Patchwork 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad, a butterfly from the A6 Vintage Patchwork Rub-Ons, and a sentiment from the Sentimental Sticker Stack to create a Thank you card.

Stamping Platform

Note: If you use the correct ink, you can often stamp onto patterned paper, then color with Copic markers. This works really well with music notation, text paper, and papers with grids like ledger paper. I wanted to see how this technique would work with a floral patterned paper. I must say that I'm very happy with the result!

Instructions:

1. Create an A6 card from green cardstock. Set aside.
2. Using a stamping platform,  position one of the birds from the A5 Woodcut Birds Clear Stamp Set facedown about .75" up from the bottom of a  8" x 4" piece of rose-patterned paper from the Vintage Patchwork 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad.
3. Press the platform's lid on the back of the stamp, lift, ink the stamp with Obsidian Black Amalgam Ink, and stamp.
4. Re-ink and stamp again to attain a good solid stamped impression.
5. Heat set.
6. Use Copic markers to color the open areas of the bird.
7. Tear a plain-ish piece of off white-ish patterned paper so that it's a thin strip.
8. Color the strip with the YG61 Copic marker.
9. Adhere the colored patterned paper strip with the torn side up below the bird's feet to ground him.
10. Trim the bottom of the panel.
11. Add the rub-on butterfly from the A6 Vintage Patchwork Rub-Ons to the rose-patterned paper to the right of the bird and slightly above his sightline.
12. Trim the image panel to 5.625" x 3.875" and edge with an N4 Copic marker.
13. Cut black cardstock to 5.875" x 4.125" and use to mat the image panel.
14. Adhere the matted image panel to the reserved green card.
15. Edge the "Thank you" sentiment sticker with a black marker, then adhere the sentiment sticker to finish the card.
