Instructions:

1. Cut red cardstock to 11" x 5.5", score at 5.5", and fold to form a 5.5" square card. Set aside.
2. Use Obsidian Amalgam ink to stamp the to-go cup from the Perfect Blend Clear Stamp Set onto white cardstock.
3. Color the cup with Copic markers to match the patterned paper.
4. Fussy-cut the cup and edge it with a dark marker. 
5. Use Red Brick Prism  Ink to stamp the tiny heart from the You Go Gull Clear Stamp Set onto the cup sleeve.
6. Brush Dusky Rose, Pink Jelly Bean, Flamingo Paradise, Camelia Pink, Red Chili, and Red Brick Prism inks onto a piece of white Bristol paper.
7. Mist the blended inks with water and heat set.
8. Use the smaller frame die from the Scalloped Rectangles Frame Die Set to cut the inked paper. 
9. Remove the center part of the frame and reserve to use for the sentiment. 
10. Sponge the frame's scalloped edges and aperture edges with Red Brick Prism ink. 
11. Heat set.
12. Flip the die-cut over and add strong adhesive to the back of the frame around the edges of the aperture.
13. Adhere the clear acetate window over the aperture. 
14. Apply foam tape around the aperture to create a well. Be sure that there are no gaps between pieces of tape.
15. Brush the sides of the tape and the acetate with a non-static agent.
16. Add heart confetti, sparkly hearts, heart rhinestones, and round sequins to the well.
17. Carefully remove the backing paper from the foam adhesive.
18. Trim a piece of the coffee-cup patterned paper from the Travel Light 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad to seal the well containing the shaker contents.
19. Use Monarch VersaFine™ Clair Ink onto white paper, heat set, and die-cut with a circle die. 
20. Adhere red and silver little sparkly hearts around the sentiment. 
21. Use the corresponding scalloped circle die to cut the inked paper, reserved in Step #9.
22. Trim another piece of the coffee-cup patterned paper to 5.25" square and adhere it to the reserved 5.5" square card. 
23. Adhere the shaker frame and sentiment to the card as shown. Adhere the fussy-cut stamped and colored to-go coffee-cup to the edge of the shaker frame to finish the card.

Penguin Shaker Christmas Card

The cardmaking community seems to be celebrating Christmas/Winter in July, so I figured I'd play along using brand new Stampendous!® stamps from their July 2021 release. Have you seen the new stamps yet? You really ought to pop right over to take a look at the new catalog!

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of 8.5" x 11" Parrot (green) cardstock in half, score, and fold to create an A2 card. Set aside.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp penguin onto mixed media paper.
3. Use stamp positioner to stamp the three fish as shown.
4. Color the images with Copic markers.
5. Add the movement lines with a fine tip black pen.
6. Cut a piece of silver metallic cardstock to 4" x 5.25".
7. Cut a scrap of silver metallic paper with the lid die from the Window-Rama Dome Jar Shaker Die Set. Set both the silver metallic panel and the jar lid die-cut aside.
8. Use the jar-shaped die to cut a window in a panel of plaid paper from the Joy to the World 8x8 paper pad.
9. Trim the die-cut plaid panel to 3.875" x 5.125".
10. Run a red marker along the edge of the card and around the aperture.
11. Use magnets to secure a piece of Embossable Window Plastic Sheets to the base of the stamping platform. Rub the dryer sheet onto the plastic.
12. Position the the sentiment from the Festive Season Perfectly Clear Stamp set face-down onto the plastic sheet. Press the lid of the platform onto the back of the stamp and lift the lid.
13. Lightly ink the stamp with Onyx Black VersaFine ink and stamp.
14. Sprinkle the wet ink with Silver Detail Embossing powder, dump off the excess, and heat set. 
15. Flip the plaid panel over and adhere the stamped embossing window plastic sheet over the aperture.
16. Rub this side of the plastic sheet with the dryer sheet.
17. Add a double layer of Black Crafty Foam Tape around the perimeter of the aperture to form a well for the shaker contents.
18. Add the shaker contents.
19. Remove the backing from the foam tape and place the image panel face-down onto the tape, covering the shaker contents.
20. Add pieces of Black Craft Foam Tape to the edges of the back of the shaker panel.
21. Mat the shaker panel with the silver cardstock from step #6.
22. Adhere the matted shaker panel to the reserved green card.
23. Adhere the jar lid die-cut to finish the card.

Shake It Up for Halloween!

I'm definitely in Halloween mode and decided to create a shaker card using Stampendous!' wonderful WindowRama Dome Jar Shaker Die Set with the new Vintage Victorian Rubber Stamp and the Shake It Up Perfectly Clear Stamp Set. As usual, the shaker is overfilled and the image is a little wonky, but those adjectives describe me as well. So there's that.

Sookwang Tape, Red Liner Tape, or strong liquid adhesive.

Instructions:

1. Place a piece of white mixed media paper onto the stamping platform and secure with magnets.
2. Position the Vintage Victorian rubber stamp on the paper, press the lid onto the stamp, and lift.
3. Use Memento ink to stamp the image onto the paper to create the image panel.
4. Repeat #3, this time stamping onto a piece of Removable Label paper to create a mask.
5. Fussy-cut the label version and place it atop its counterpart on the image panel.
6. Remove the image panel from the stamping platform. Remove stamp and clean. Or not. Whatever floats your boat.
7. Place the image panel onto the STAY-tion and secure with magnets.
8. Sponge or brush Blueprint Sketch Distress ink over the panel starting at the ruler and working your way up from the bottom to the top of the image panel.
9. Sponge Chipped Sapphire Distress ink over the panel, concentrating the ink towards the top and along the sides.
10. Remove the image panel from the STAY-tion.
11. Lift the mask and color the house, car, tree, and grassy hill. Set aside.
12. Use the base of the WindowRama Dome Jar Shaker Die Set to cut patterned paper for the front of the card and Dusk cardstock for the back
13. For the front of the card, fold the patterned paper backwards on the scoreline on both sides of the die-cut. 
14. For the back of the card, fold the green cardstock forwards on the scoreline on both sides of the die-cut.
15. Use the jar-shaped die to cut the die-cut front.
16. Use the lid die to cut silver cardstock for the jar's lid.
17. Adhere acrylic over the window on the reverse of the card front.
18. Add foam tape around the perimeter of the jar-shaped window opening over the acrylic.
19. Tap the acrylic and the sides of the foam tape with an anti-static bag. Do this several more times than I did or do it more vigorously. I dunno.
20. Add the shaker contents and some white cat fur to the well formed by the foam tape. I added too much. Clearly I haven't figured out how much to add. Oh well. 
21. Adhere the image panel to the the back of the card front to seal the shaker.
22. Adhere the front panel of the card to the back panel of the card using strong tape or liquid adhesive.
23. Place a piece of the Dusk cardstock onto the stamping platform and secure with magnets.
24. Position both sentiments on the cardstock, press the lid onto the stamp, and lift.
25. Ink the sentiments with white ink, stamp, and repeat if necessary to achieve good coverage.
26. Cut the "Shake" sentiment with the tag die.
27. Trim the Halloween sentiment. 
28. Edge both sentiment pieces with white ink.
29. Color the black and white baker's twine with an orange marker.
30. Thread the twine through the hole in the tag, then wrap the twine around the silver jar lid die-cut.
31. Adhere the jar lid and the tag sentiment to finish the card.

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of red cardstock in half.
2. Score the card at 4.25" and fold to form an A2 card.
3. Randomly sponge Distress Oxide inks onto a whole sheet of Mixed Media paper. 
4. Spritz with water, heat set.
5. Repeat steps #4 and #5 until happy with the results.
6. Heat set until bone dry, then heat set some more.
7. Using temporary adhesive, adhere the sheet to scrap paper, then secure to a stamping platform with magnets.
8. Place the 8" square Décor Cling stamp, face down onto the inked paper and press the stamp platform's cover onto the foam.
9. Lift foam, ink with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, and stamp. Repeat if necessary to ensure a good impression. Heat set.
10. Trim this panel to 5.25" x 4" to form the card front.
11. Using one of the circle  dies from the Build a Wreath die set, cut a circle from the center of the card front, then edge the circle window and the card front's edges with Black Soot Distress ink.
12. Flip the card front over and adhere clear acetate over the window.
13. Adhere foam tape around the window and around the edges of the card front. Do NOT pull off the covering to reveal the sticky tape part. 
14. Rub the acetate window and the edges of the foam tape with Anti-Static pouch to prevent the shaker goodies from sticking. Maybe that will work for you. Or not.
15. Add the shaker goodies to the well formed by the foam tape.
16. Lift the foam tape covering and press the card front into the tape to seal the window.
17. Use the word dies from the Truck Load Die set to cut red cardstock.
18. Adhere the sentiment as shown.
19. Adhere the shaker card front to the red card.

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of 12x12 Avalanche cardstock in half. Reserve one sheet. Score and fold the other sheet in half to form a 6x6 card.
2. Cut a piece of Orange Peel cardstock to 5.75" square.
3. Sponge all the colors of the Prism Inks listed above over the Tea Party Stencil onto the Orange Peel cardstock. 
4. Use the largest mug from the Cozy Mugs die set to cut the stenciled cardstock. 
5. Use the Blue Lagoon Prism ink to sponge the edges of the mug-shaped aperture and the edges of the stenciled die-cut square.
6. Use Memento ink to stamp the bear onto Neenah cardstock.
7. Fussy cut, edge with a black Multiliner, and color with Copic markers.
8. Use Onyx Black VersaFine ink to stamp the sentiment onto the patterned paper.
9. Use glue or strong tape around the edges of the mug-shaped opening. Position the adhesive and let dry.
10. Use two layers of black Crafty Foam Tape all around the mug-shaped aperture. 
11. Add the sequins to the well created with the foam tape.
12. Use the stamped patterned paper to seal the aperture.
13. Adhere the shaker card front to the 6" square card.
14. Adhere the bear to finish the card.

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of orange cardstock in half, score, and fold to form a 6" square card.
2. Cut polka dotted patterned paper to 5.75" square, edge with Fire Coral ink, then adhere to the card to create the card front.
3. Use Memento ink to stamp the cat onto white cardstock and onto masking paper.
4. Fussy-cut the Eclipse tape cat and adhere atop its counterpart to mask the image.
5. Sponge Canary Yellow Prism Dye Ink over the image. 
6. Place Repositionable Scotch Tape across the base of the image panel.
7. Place the stencil over the image panel and sponge Fire Coral Prism over the stencil. 
8. Lift the stencil and the tape. 
9. Cover the stenciled top part of the image panel and lightly sponge Fire Coral and Canary Yellow across the bottom of the image panel. You'll find that the inks blend beautifully together.
10. Trim the image panel and sponge the edges with Fire Coral ink.
11. Trim blue glitter paper so that it's slightly larger than the image panel then mat the image panel.
12. Position the champagne glass onto the image panel and die-cut. Reserve the stenciled and glitter paper die cuts for later use. I used the stenciled one on the inside of the card but didn't photograph it. Oops.
13. Die-cut a scrap of the blue glitter paper with the Cheers die.
14. Remove the Eclipse Tape mask and color the cat with Copic markers. 
15. Use the glitter pen to add glitter to the stamped confetti.
16. Adhere the sentiment as shown.
17. Sponge the edges of the champagne glass opening with Fire Coral ink.
18. Adhere acetate behind the aperture cut with the window die to create the window for the shaker card.
19. Add a double layer of foam tape around the aperture to create the opening for the shaker contents.
20. Add sparkles and micro-beads to shaker.
21. Remove the backing of the tape and seal the shaker with a strip of yellow DoubleDot patterned paper.
22. Cut a piece of gingham patterned paper .5" larger than the blue glitter paper and edge with Fire Coral ink.
23. Adhere the matted image panel/shaker onto the gingham patterned paper. 
24. Cut blue glitter paper slightly larger than the gingham paper.
25. Mat the gingham paper with the glitter paper and adhere the image panel to the card front.

It's a Special Day! Celebrate!

It's Friday the 13th and my daughter's 30th birthday (I had her when I was 9. I was precocious like that.) and my fairy stamp mother's birthday (She's 29...again) and National Cocoa Day (Who comes up with these holidays?), so I made a card with cocoa and mice (We have mice. ugh! Not as pets, as intruders.  And yes, we do have  two cats. Who think the mice are their new toys.) However, I digress. I made a card for National Cocoa Day. 3. Cut a piece of the white hatched paper to 3" x 4.25".
4. Edge both pieces of patterned paper with London Fog Memento ink.
5. Layer as shown and adhere to the red 7" x 5" card.
6. Stamp image onto white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
7. Color with Copic markers.
8. Cut the image panel with one of the dies from the A2 Layers die set.
9. Cut red linen patterned paper with the next largest die from the set. Edge with London Fog Memento ink.
10. Apply Clear Star glitter gel pen to all edges of the image panel, then mat with the red linen die-cut.
11. Stamp the sentiment with Jet Black Archival ink onto red linen paper.
12. Cut the sentiment with one of the dies from the Fitted Frames B die set, then edge with London Fog ink.
13. Adhere the matted image panel and sentiment to the card front.
14. Adhere the sequins to finish the card.

Here's my second shaker card with Cling Giving Snowmen Rubber Stamp Set and Vixen, Penguin Party, and Pixie Dust Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I must admit that I went a little overboard and probably overstuffed my shaker, but in my defense, they're sooooo pretty and sparkly!

Instructions:

1. Create a red A2 card. 
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the Snowman image onto white cardstock and onto Eclipse Tape 
3. Fussy-cut the Eclipse Tape version and place atop the one on the white cardstock. 
4. Brush Summer Sky Memento ink over the masked image. 
5. Brush Angel Pink Memento ink over the masked image. 
6. Lift the mask and save for another use. 
7. Color the image panel. 
8. Add several layers of Clear Glaze pen to the Snowman's nose, mouth, eyes, and buttons. 
9. Using temporary adhesive, adhere the patterned paper to a piece of red cardstock. 
10. Using the third largest die from the A2 Layers Card Maker Die set, cut the cardstock/patterned paper combination. 
11. Choose a die from the same set to become the shaker opening, position the die onto the cardstock/patterned paper combo, tape the die down, and cut. 
12. Use the next smallest die and cut pink cardstock. 
13. Separate the patterned paper from the red cardstock and die-cut the patterned paper so that it's slightly smaller than the red cardstock. 
14. Adhere the pink cardstock to the back of the patterned paper, then adhere to the red cardstock. This is the card front. 
15. Position acetate on the reverse of the card front over the opening. Adhere. 
16. Apply foam tape around the openinge. I used two layers of foam tape. 
17. Add a combination of the Vixen, Penguin Party, and Pixie Dust Sparkle Blends to the well created with the foam tape. Don't be like me and overfill. It's not easy to resist. Be strong. 
18. Seal the well with the stamped, colored image panel. 
19. Adhere the shaker card front to the red card. 
20. Realize that you've overfilled the shaker and that your layers are a bit wonky. Perfection is overrated, so get over it.

Instructions:

1. Create a red A2 card.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the Gnome Love image onto white cardstock.
3. Use a Scalloped Heart die to die-cut the scalloped heart within the stamped heart.
4. Color the image panel.
5. Position acetate on the reverse of the card front over the opening. Adhere.
6. Apply foam tape around the heart shaped aperture. I used two layers of foam tape.
7. Add the wonderful and festive Celebrate Sparkle Blend to the well created with the foam tape.
8. Seal the well with patterned paper.
9. Die-cut patterned paper with the largest Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die.
10. Adhere the die-cut paper to the card.
11. Adhere the shaker card front to the card.

Coffee and Friends v2.0

Since Stampendous' new Pumpkin Latte Cling set was still on my table, I decided to use it again to create a non-Autumnal shaker card!

Here it is!

Here's where I masked the pumpkin sleeve with a Post-It® Note and inked the stamp.

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of 8.5" x 11" red cardstock in half, score, and fold to create an A2 card. Set the card aside.
2. Trim a Post-It Note to cover the pumpkin and pumpkin leaves on the stamp. Ink the stamp with Memento ink. See the photo above.
3. Remove the Post-It note and stamp the image onto white cardstock. 
4. Color with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and edge the image with black markers.
5. Using repositionable tape, place the smallest scalloped heart onto the blank label. Run through die-cut machine. 
6. Remove tape and die. 
7. Flip the coffee cup over and place red-liner tape (or glue) around the aperture. Position a piece of trimmed acetate over the opening. Rub the acetate with an antistatic cloth.
8. Place foam adhesive around the opening to form a little well.
9. Add the sequins and other sparkly bits to the well.
10. Remove the backing from the foam adhesive. Trim a piece of brown solid-ish paper from the same pad to be smaller than the coffee cup. Adhere over the aperture. Set aside your shaker.
11. Trim and layer the patterned paper to form the card front as shown. Edge with Pumice Stone Distress ink.
12. Die-cut the striped paper using one of the dies from the Spring Borders Cutting Die Set. Use foam dimensional to adhere it to the card front.
13. Use Versa Fine Clair ink to stamp the Curio onto the remaining solid-ish brown paper from step 8. Let dry and color some of the dots with RV29 and R59 markers.
14. Die-cut the sentiment using the circle from the Build A Wreath Die Set.
15. Die-cut red cardstock using another die from the same die set.
16. Adhere the sentiment circle die-cut onto the red cardstock.
17. Adhere the shaker coffee cup and the sentiment onto the card front.
18. Adhere the card front to the red A2 card.
