Voyage of Discovery

It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday. This week's theme is Beach and/or Ocean.

Instructions:
  1. Create a 5.5" square card from Kraft cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp Voyage of Discovery Unmounted Rubber Stamp onto Bristol Paper. Heat set.
  3. Use Copic markers to color the image. 
  4. Add white caps to the ocean with a white Gelly Roll Gel Pen. 
  5. Use a Black Gelly Roll Glaze Pen to fill in the open letters of "Discovery". 
  6. Trim the image panel and edge with a black marker. Set it aside.
  7. Select a piece of patterned paper from the Retro Summer 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad to use as a background panel. 
  8. Trim the patterned paper to 5.25".
  9. Secure the patterned paper background panel to a stamping platform.
  10. Position the Counting Down Unmounted Rubber Stamp facedown on the image panel along the right side.
  11. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  12. Ink the stamp with Sand Dune VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp onto the patterned paper panel. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a good impression.
  13. Remove the stamp, but keep the background panel on the stamping platform.
  14. Position the compass and the anchor stamps from the ScrapCosy ESC11 Cling Rubber Stamp Set facedown along the left side of the patterned paper as shown. 
  15. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  16. Ink the both stamps with  Sand Dune VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain good impressions. 
  17. Remove the background panel from the stamping platform and thoroughly heat set the ink. 
  18. Spray Cactus Gold Glitz Spray from the Glitz Spritz Spray Set (Cactus Gold) by Lindy's Stamp Gang over the stamped background panel. Heat set.
  19. Adhere the image panel to the background panel as shown, then adhere the background panel to the reserved 5.5" square kraft card.

Thank You Card

Greetings! It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday. This week the team's focus is on Thank You cards which are always useful to have on hand, especially with the holiday season approaching.

Instructions:
  1. Make an A2 card from off-white/beige parchment patterned cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Place a piece of Mixed Media Paper or other water-friendly heavy cardstock into a box to protect your working surface. 
  3. Spray Opal Sea Oats Stardust Spray from the Mermaid Sea Shells Stardust Spray Set onto the panel. 
  4. Use a paper towel to pick up any large blotches. Heat set the panel. 
  5. Repeat this process with Cocklebells Coral and Azure Sea Asters Stardust Sprays from the Mermaid Sea Shells Stardust Spray Set until you're happy with the coverage. 
  6. Use a water-filled Fine Spray Mister to lightly mist the panel. Thoroughly heat set the panel.
  7. Flatten the panel by placing it onto the base of a die-cut machine. Add a clean piece of cardstock atop the sprayed panel followed by both cutting mats. Run the sandwich through the die-cut machine several times until it is flat.
  8. Place the dryed flattened sprayed panel onto the base of a stamping platform secured with magnets and/or low-tack tape.
  9. Place the Seaside Shell Treasures Unmounted Rubber Stamp facedown onto the sprayed panel. 
  10. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp, lift the lid, ink the Seaside Shell Treasures stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a crisp image.
  11. Remove the panel from the stamping platform and heat set it. 
  12. Open each of the bottles of the Mermaid Sea Shells Stardust Sprays and use the tube of the spray nozzle to add drips of color to the stamped Shells
  13. Mist some water onto the craft mat, dip a cotton bud into the water, and use to spread the color a bit. Heat set the panel and set aside.
  14. Take a piece of beige/off white parchment print cardstock and secure it to the base of a stamping platform with magnets and/or low-tack tape. 
  15. Place the Thank You Sentiment Strip Red Rubber Cling Stamp facedown onto the cardstock.
  16. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp, lift the lid, ink the Thank You Sentiment Strip stamp with Bali Blue VersaFine Clair Ink  and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary.
  17. Remove the stamped panel from the platform and heat set.
  18. Trim the sentiment strip panel, use the blade of a pair of scissors to distress the sides of the panel. 
  19. Edge the sentiment panel with Bali Blue VersaFine Clair Ink.
  20. Spray each of the colors of the Mermaid Sea Shells Stardust Sprays onto your craft mat. 
  21. Adhere the sentiment panel to the center of the background panel.
  22. Spray each of the colors of the Mermaid Sea Shells Stardust Sprays onto your craft mat. 
  23. Dip a stipple brush into each puddles, pounce the brush onto a paper towel, then pounce it the card front.
  24. Trim the card front to 5.25" x 4". 
  25. Edge the panel with  Bali Blue VersaFine Clair Ink and heat set. 
  26. Adhere the panel to the reserved A2 card. 
  27. Add flat backed pearls to finish the card.

A Fishy Hello!

Greetings! It's Tuesday so it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week our theme is Beach or Ocean so I've made a card with Crafty IndividualsShrimping Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set 588 and their Morning Commute Unmounted Stamp Set 599, the Spanish Moss Clear Polymer Stamps by Lavinia Stamps, and a sentiment the Everyday Sentiments Clear Stamp Set 666 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create.

Instructions:
  1. Create an A6 card from Classic Green cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the dapper top-hatted fish from the Shrimping Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set 588 and the Morning Commute Unmounted Stamp Set 599 twice — once onto the center of a white cardstock panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  3. Use Copic markers to color both fish. Outline both fish with one of the BG markers. 
  4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper versions of the fish and adhere them over their counterparts on the image panel as masks.
  5. Sponge or brush Blue LagoonMermaid, and Blue Atoll Elements Inks by Lavinia Stamps to create a blended sea background. 
  6. Use a Fine Spray Mister, filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to mist the image panel. 
  7. Use another of Fine Spray Misters, this time filled with water, to mist the image panel. Using the alcohol starts to blend and speckle the cardstock. Misting the second time with water, continues to speckle and lift the ink without pilling the cardstock.
  8. Use a fine tip paint brush to add drops of water here and there.
  9. Place the both of the moss stamps from the Spanish Moss Clear Polymer Stamps onto acrylic blocks
  10. Use Grass Green and Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Inks  to stamp both of the moss stamps from the Spanish Moss Clear Polymer Stamps onto the image panel. I used second generation stamping to achieve a bit of dimension and visual interest. Heat set the image panel.
  11. Place the image panel onto the base of a stamping platform and secure it with magnets and/or tape.
  12. Place the "Hello" sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments Clear Stamp Set 666 facedown and centered towards the top of the image panel.
  13. Press the lid of the platform onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  14. Ink the sentiment stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Inks and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain a good impression.
  15. Remove the masks from the fish. 
  16. Use a gold gel pen to outline the monocle and to add beads to the chain. Let the gel ink dry. 
  17. Go over the monocle, the chain, and the pipe with a Clear Dimensional Gloss Glaze pen. Allow the gel ink to dry and repeat until the layers of dimensional glaze gel ink on pipe, the monocle, and the chain are built up to your liking.
  18. Trim the image panel to 5.825" x 4.25" and edge with Blue Atoll Elements Ink and Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Ink
  19. Cut a piece of black cardstock slightly larger than the image panel and use to mat the image panel. 
  20. Adhere the matted image panel to a green A2 card.
  21. Adhere the clear Rain Drops to the "smoke" from the pipe to finish the card.

Balance — Like a Flamingo

It's Tuesday so it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. It's an "Anything Goes" theme this week. I decided to use the flamingo from the Two Tropical Birds Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set by Crafty Individuals with the Palm Fronds Stencil by Craft Emotions to make a card. Both companies have gone out of business, but Topflight Stamps still has lots of their products still in stock! I also used the Frayed Frames Die Set 26 by AALL and Create and a sentiment from the Flamazing Clear Stamp Set 617 by Janet Klein for  AALL and Create.

Instructions:
  1. Create a 5" x 7" card from white cardstock and set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the flamingo from the Two Tropical Birds Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  3. Color the flamingo with Copic markers. Use a B41 Copic marker to outline the flamingo. 
  4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the flamingo and place it over its counterpart on the image panel. 
  5. Place a piece of low-tack tape horizontally towards the bottom of the image panel. 
  6. Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Ink over the tape and the masked flamingo to add a blue background. 
  7. Use a Fine Spray Mister filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to mist image panel. The alcohol will add splotches and mottling to the background.
  8.  Remove the repositionable mask from the flamingo. 
  9. Move the tape so that it sits on the bottom of horizon line on the light blue ink. 
  10. Brush or sponge Blue Lagoon Elements Ink over the bottom of the tape, the flamingo's shins and feet to cover the bottom part of the image panel. 
  11. Brush or sponge Mermaid Elements Ink over the same area. 
  12. Use a white gel pen to add ripples and white highlights to the water then set the. image panel aside while you work on the background panel.
  13. Place a piece of 5.5" x 8.5" white cardstock onto a magnetic surface secured with low-tack tape and/or magnets. 
  14. Sponge or brush Verdant VersaFine Clair Ink onto the white cardstock to start the background panel. 
  15. Sponge or brush Grass Green VersaFine Clair Ink overtop blending as you go. Heat set. 
  16. Cut 1" from the inked panel and place onto a stamping platform, secured with magnets and/or low-tack tape. 
  17. Place the "Balance" sentiment from the Flamazing Clear Stamp Set 617  facedown on the inked strip of cardstock. 
  18. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  19. Ink the stamp with Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. 
  20. Remove the panel from the stamping platform.
  21. Heat set the panel. 
  22. Cut the sentiment strip with a thin long rectangle die.
  23. Edge the sentiment die-cut with  Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Ink.
  24. Place the Palm Fronds Stencil over the background panel (Steps #13-15) and secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets. 
  25. Sponge or brush Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Ink over the stencil onto the background panel. 
  26. Randomly sponge or brush Rain Forest VersaFine Clair Ink over the stencil onto the background panel to deepen the green. 
  27. Remove the stencil. 
  28. Trim the background panel and edge with Rain Forest VersaFine Clair Ink
  29. Heat set the panel.
  30. Center the second largest die from the Frayed Frames Die Set 26 on the background panel and secure with low-tack tape. 
  31. Run the die and panel through your machine to cut a window in the background.
  32. Adhere the image panel behind the opening in the background panel.
  33. Adhere the sentiment die-cut to the top of the background panel as shown.
  34. Take the reserved white 5" x 7" card from Step 1. 
  35. Sponge the outer .5" perimeter of the cards with Green Oasis and Rain Forest VersaFine Clair Inks
  36. Adhere the cardfront to the card.

Winter Magic with Crafty Individuals!

Greetings! It's Tuesday, my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. But before I get to this week's theme and my project, I wanted to remind you about Topflight Stamps' wonderful Cyber Monday Sale that runs until 11:59 p.m. tonight, December 3rd! This week the team is focusing on Crafty Individuals' wonderful stamps. As you might know, I love penguins almost as much as cats and meeting one face to face is a bucket list item for me. Anyway, once I saw the Pablo the Penguin Unmounted Rubber Stamp, I knew that one day he'd be mine. Eventhough he's a holiday stamp, it would be so easy get rid of his antlers and ice skates, which would add to his versatility.

Instructions:
  1. Create an A6 card from white cardstock and set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp Pablo the Penguin twice — once onto a white panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  3. Use Copic markers to color Pablo and add outlines around the image. 
  4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of Pablo and place it atop the colored image.
  5. Place a piece of repositionable tape horizontally over the base of the image under Pablo's skates. 
  6. Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Inks over the tape and the masked image to create a blue sky. 
  7. Move the tape to cover the horizon line and shield the sky. 
  8. Brush Lost Shadow Distress Ink over the tape onto the bottom of the image panel.
  9. Place the image panel onto a stamping platform. 
  10. Position the Snowflake Background Cling Red Rubber Stamp facedown onto the image panel.
  11. Press the lid of the platform onto the back of the stamp. Lift.
  12. Ink the stamp with Moonlight White Brilliance Ink and stamp.
  13. Ink the stamp again with White Shimmer Delicata Ink and stamp.
  14. Remove the image panel from the stamping platform and heat set the ink.
  15. Use the silver marker from the Bright Vivid Metallic Colorista Marker Set to color the blades of Pablo's skates.
  16. Use the Uniposca paint pen to add white dots to the image panel.
  17. Use the Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glitter Ink Pen to add clear glitter to the snow and the ice.
  18. Position two pieces of the same 6x6 plaid paper by Craft Consortium together so that the lines in the plaid are aligned vertically. 
  19. Tape them together to create a 6" x 12" panel.
  20. Position the largest die from the a A6 Frame Die set onto the taped panel of plaid paper so that it's centered side-to-side and the taped seam is centered vertically. Use repositionable tape to keep the die in place.
  21. Run the die and paper panel through a cutting machine.
  22. Adhere the A6 frame over the image panel to frame it. 
  23. Adhere the framed die-cut/image panel to the reserved white A6 card.
  24. Use a dark blue Copic marker to edge the card.
  25. Use red markers to color a scrap of white cardstock.
  26. Use the star/garland diefrom the Galactic Edges Die Set 68 to cut the red-colored strip of paper twice.
  27. Place the red-die-cuts over the taped seams of the frame to cover them and add another touch of red to the card.
  28. Use one of the speech bubble dies from the Bubble Talk Die Set 72 to cut another leftover piece of white cardstock.
  29. Place repositionable tape over the back of the speech-bubble shaped aperture on the white scrap.
  30.  Place the speech bubble die-cut into the aperture and secure to the base of a stamping platform.
  31. Position the sentiment from the Winter is Magic Clear Stamp Set 1191 facedown on the speech bubble.
  32. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  33. Ink the stamp with Blue Belle VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp.
  34. Adhere the sentiment speech bubble as shown to finish the card.

Flamazing!

I'm back with another card designed for Topflight Stamps. This time I'm featuring the flamingo from the Two Tropical Birds Unmounted Stamp Set by Crafty Individuals with sentiments from the Flamazing Clear Stamp Set 617 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create. The background was created with the Palm Fronds Stencil by Craft Emotions with two colors of Lavinia StampsElements Inks and Rainforest VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.

Instructions:
  1. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the flamingo from the Two Tropical Birds Unmounted Stamp Set  twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
  2. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and adhere over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.
  3. Tear a piece of low-tack tape horizontally and place it across the bottom of the image panel covering the flamingo's ankle. 
  4. Position the tag die facedown over the stamped and masked image panel and secure it with low-tack tape. 
  5. Sponge or brush Danube Blue and Summer Sky Memento Inks over the die onto the image panel to create a sky area.
  6. Remove the low-tack tape, place the other side of the torn tape over the sky area, and brush Bahama Blue and Teal Zeal Memento Inks over the bottom of the die onto the image panel to create water.
  7. Keep the die and masked image in place and run the image panel,through the die-cutting machine.
  8. Remove the die from the image panel and clean it.
  9. Carefully remove the mask and tape
  10. Color the image with Copic markers.
  11. Use a white gel pen to add detail and movement to the water.
  12. Use Danube Blue Memento Ink to stamp the "Flamazing" sentiment from the Flamazing Clear Stamp Set 617 onto the image panel/die-cut.
  13. Cut and fold white cardstock to create a slimline card. 
  14. Sponge or brush Lime Punch and Pine Elements Inks over the white folded white card. 
  15. Place the Palm Fronds Stencil bys over the inked card then sponge  Rainforest VersaFine Clair Ink over the stencil onto the front of the card. 
  16. Sponge or brush Lime Punch and Pine Elements Inks over a scrap of white cardstock. 
  17. Use Rainforest VersaFine Clair Ink  to stamp the "Life is..." sentiment from the Flamazing Clear Stamp Set 617 onto the inked cardstock.
  18. Use a flag die to cut the sentiment then edge the flag die-cut with Rainforest VersaFine Clair Ink.
  19. Adhere the image panel die-cut to the card as shown. 
  20. Adhere the sentiment die-cut to finish the card.

Spring Lily Card

Greetings! It's Tuesday so it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week my TFS teammates and I are focusing on Spring! I'm hopeful that we'll soon see warmer and drier weather here in the Northeast!

Instructions:
  1. Create an A6 card from Avalanche cardstock. Set aside.Using a stamping platform and Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, stamp the L is for Lily Unmounted Rubber Stamp 599 onto a piece of white watercolor paper. 
  2. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain a good impression.
  3. Pour Detail Gold embossing powder onto the inked image, dump off the excess, and heat set to melt the embossing powder.
  4. Use Zig Clean Color Brush markers and paint brushes to watercolor the image and the entire image panel. 
  5. Heat set the image panel.
  6. Use a scissors blade to distress the edges then use a sanding block or emory board to sand them  back further to reveal more white around the edges. 
  7. Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Ink Drops - Candy 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad to 4.25" x 6" to form the card front. 
  8. Drag the edge of the Nocturne VersaFine Clair Inkpad along the edge of the patterned paper card front. 
  9. Pull all four sides of the paper  through a pile of Detail Gold embossing powder and heat set. 
  10. Adhere the image panel was adhered to the card front, then adhere to the reserved white A6 card.
