  1. Create an A2 card from the Desert Storm Cardstock.
  2. Stamp the Warm Cup onto Neenah cardstock using Memento ink.
  3. Fussy-cut the image, color with Copic markers, and edge with a black pen.
  4. Using Jet Black Archival ink, stamp the Coffee Background onto Mixed Media cardstock.
  5. Brush Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso Distress Oxide inks horizontally onto white Mixed Media cardstock, going from light at the top to the darkest at the bottom. Blend as you go.

  7. Make sure that the Oxided background panel is bone dry, then die-cut with one of the dies from the A2 Layers Combo Die Set. Sponge the edges with Ground Espresso Distress ink.
  8. Adhere the clock washing tape, then outline top and bottom with the brown Pitt Artist pen.
  9. I had a Warm Cup mask from a previous stamping session. I placed the mask where I wanted and outlined it with the brown pastel chalk pencil, then smudged the lines.
  10. Using a fine-tip black pen, add the mouse's hair.
  11. Remove the mask, add more brown chalk, then smudge again.
  12. Adhere the fussy-cut Warm Cup image.
  13. Die-cut the patterned paper using a larger die from the same die-cut set used previously. Sponge the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
  14. Mat the image panel with the patterned paper.
  15. Add the twine, securing it on the reverse.
  16. Adhere the card front to the A2 card.

On my card, featuring the Laurel Burch Wreath Mare Rubber Stamp, I used foam squares to pop up the sentiment and also used Creative Photo Corners Gold on the top corners of the card.

Creations with Stampendous and Scrapbook Adhesives - Day 2

This week the Stampendous Design Team is hopping this week with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and there are some great prizes to be won in the combined prize package from both companies.

Here's my Steampunk tag !

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L is such a great company with great products. They generously supply the Stampendous Design team with 3D adhesive foam squares so we can pop up the elements on our cards and bring our projects to life.

On my tag featuring the Andy Skinner Handle with Care stamp set, I used both the tiny foam squares and the larger ones to pop up the heart and the wings. I really love the combo package ones because I don't have to do surgery on the larger squares to have smaller ones to fit in tight spaces. They are extremely sturdy and can hold even large elements with ease.

Inspirational Words in Flower Form

When I saw The Stamp Doctor's  Tiny Jewelry Tags and the fabulous Inspiration Words 1 Clear Stamp Set, this idea immediately popped into my mind. However, being a me of little brain, less memory, and a tendency towards procrastination, it took me until now to create the card.

I'm kind of pleased with the way it came out, but be prepared to see a riff on the general idea again. I shall be redoing it in as an art journal page, which will give me a bit more room to play!

By the way, it should be noted that all three sets of Inspiration Words fit inside the Tiny Jewelry Tags Die Set, the Oval Connectors Die Set, and the Rounded Rectangles Connectors Die Set. Best of all, the stamps are clear to make stamp placement easy!

Supplies Used:
Tiny Jewelry Tag Die by The Stamp Doctor
Inspiration Words 1 Clear Stamp Set by The Stamp Doctor
A2 Layers Combo Die Set by The Stamp Doctor
Sun Die Set by The Stamp Doctor
Patterned Paper from the Lost and Found Madison Avenue 6x6 pad by My Mind's Eye
Jet Black Archival™ Ink by Ranger Industries
Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Dusty Concord Tim Holtz® Distress® Oxide Inks by Ranger Industries
Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick, and Black Soot Tim Holtz® Distress® Ink by Ranger Industries
400 Series Mixed Media Paper by Strathmore®
Patterned Paper by Graphic 45
Yellow Cardstock
Dragonfly Papershaper® Punch by EK Success
Metallic Brush Pens by Pentel

Instructions:

  1. Cut, score, and fold yellow cardstock to form an A2 card.
  2. Using the A2 Layers Combo Die set, die-cut yellow patterned paper and mixed media cardstock. Edge the yellow patterned paper with Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink to get rid of those unsightly white edges, then adhere to the yellow A2 card.
  3. Sponge Dusty Concord, Blueprint Sketch, and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink onto the mixed media cardstock, blending the colors as you go. Spritz with water and heat set.
  4. Sponge text patterned paper with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. Tear horizontally, cut to the same width as the blue Oxided (new word) paper, and adhere to the base  of that panel leaving the top torn edge free of adhesive.
  5. Cut three thin strips of this sponged word-patterned paper, edge with Mowed Lawn Distress ink, and set aside for now.
  6. Sponge the panel with Black Soot Distress ink.
  7. Smoosh Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink onto a craft sheet, mist with water, drag the musical note patterned paper through the ink, mist with water, and heat set.
  8. Repeat Step 6 with Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks until you are happy with the result. Heat set the sheet until entirely dry. As in bone dry. Put the sheet onto the Big Shot platform, under both cutting mats, and run through the Big Shot repeatedly until completely flat.
  9. Using the oval Tiny Jewelry Tag, die-cut the Oxided music patterned paper a gazillion, trillion times repeatedly until the sheet is completely die-cut and you have a pile of little tiny tags.
  10. Edge all the little tiny tags with Worn Lipstick Distress ink.
  11. Using Jet Black Archival ink, stamp your choice of words from the Inspiration Words 1 Clear Stamp set onto the tags. I used six different words and stamped each word three times.
  12. Die-cut the smallest sun (there are three in the set) three times. I had a scrap of Brushoed cardstock, so I die-cut from that, then sponged Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink over each sun.
  13. Apply adhesive the reverse of a sun die-cut and adhere one set of stamped word tags to it. Fill in the flower with the blank tiny tags.
  14. Repeat Step 12 twice to yield three flowers.
  15. Adhere the three strips you created in Step 5 to the blue image panel.
  16. Adhere the flowers as desired.
  17. Punch three dragonflies from white cardstock and color with Metallic Brush markers.
  18. Adhere the three dragonflies to the image panel.
  19. Adhere the image panel to the card front.
  20. Ta-dah! You're done!
