Another day, another penguin!

This one's a BossKut penguin. All layers, except the base layer, are FiberMark specialty papers. I especially love the Cobblestone paper I used for the "sky".

I love that sentiment, but am too lazy to run upstairs to check to see who manufactured it.

Wishing you all a lovely day-before-Christmas and Christmas eve! Stay safe and be merry!

Penguins! Yahoo!

Here's a holiday card with the ever-so-cute penguin stamps from the Winter Blast set by My Favorite Things. As always you can't see the shimmer and shine from the Twinklin' H20s. *sigh* Why does my scanner hate shiny things?

Anyways, I love penguins. There's something so appealing about them. My collection of penguin stuff is huge encompassing penguin stamps, penguin die cuts, penguin stickers, penguin patterned paper, stuffed penguins, penguin pins, penguin bric-a-brac, penguin dishes, penguin wrapping paper, and penguin books.

Wanted!

This card is one of my all time favorites. I was sound asleep and woke up with a mental sketch of this card. Rather than risk losing my "vision", I ran to my table, and made the card! It went together really quickly and I went back to sleep at 4:00 a.m.

QuicKutz dies on a real sheet of cork. The card appeared in Card Creations 4.

from the cat

It seemed appropriate to end Priscilla's recent adventures with a card from her.

This card was based on the sketch in justjohanna's newsletter. The fish tree and the sentiment are from justjohanna's new release. The nameplate is a QK Rev. die and the patterned paper is by Basic Grey.

Priscilla's not birdbrained.

She does have birdies on her mind, and on her "arms" and on her tail.

After successfully trapping the mouse with her ACME box-mousetrap, Priscilla went to take a catnap on her window perch. When she awoke, she noticed that it was snowing and that there were lots of birdies flying around.

Priscilla felt like taking a little romp in the snow. She also was feeling a bit hungry. So she combined the two activities...playing in the snow and getting something to eat!

***
Priscilla, "naughty", "nice", and the chicklets are justjohanna stamps.

I stamped Priscilla using SU white pigment ink. I sponged more ink to color her in completely and also inked a circle under her. I added white embossing powder and heat set it. When the image was cool, I inked Priscilla's face with StazOn black ink, used my Stamp-ma-jig, and stamped the face on the white image.

I drew in the snowkitty's branch/arms and then stamped the chicklets on them.

Glittery snowflakes in random swirls were added with a glue pen and glitter. They're difficult to see on the scan.

When the cat's away..."

While Priscilla was enjoying her tropical fishing vacation, her house had some guests who overstayed their welcome.

When she returned home, Priscilla worked quickly to get rid of them! She was tired of a strictly fish diet anyways!

Priscilla and the mouse stamps are by justjohanna. The papers are from DCWV. The sticker is from 7Gypsies.

Priscilla's vacation continues...

After a successful snorkeling trip and a very full tummy from her wonderful fresh sushi dinner, Priscilla decided to try something new. After all, the salt water was drying out her beautiful fur coat!

So she rented a dinghy and spent the day fishing. Her friend, Priscilla le Chef, had promised to prepare a sumptuous fish feast featuring the catch of the day. After all, she had written an entire cookbook of her fave fish recipes!

Priscilla, the hook, and Philippe are justjohanna stamps.

That Priscilla!

Priscilla decided that the fishbowl didn't contain enough really fresh fish, so she decided to go where fish were plentiful. She read several travel brochures and chose a tropical beach resort. After a few lessons, she was ready to snorkel.

Priscilla and philippe (both sizes) are justjohanna stamps. The mask, snorkel, and spear are my additions.

The paper is old, but beloved Doodlebug from my stash. Priscilla and phillipes were colored with Prismacolors and the wonderful Uniball Signo White gel pen. The "sea" was colored with chalk. The spear was colored with the Uniball Signo Silver gel pen.

Clever but Naughty!

With behavior like this, Priscilla will defintely be getting coal in her stocking! However, you've got to give her credit for ingenuity!

Priscilla, fish, hook, and sentiment stamps are by justjohanna. The paper is Basic Grey Mellow.

If I Had A Tree: The Sequel

If I had a tree, I have no doubt that Duchess would act as the tree's angel since she loves to pose and also loves to frequent high places (top of my kitchen cabinets, top of shower doors, etc.).

Angel Priscilla & Meowy Christmas are by justjohanna. The tree was drawn in chalk pencils and then was painted with Twinklin' H2Os to add shimmer. Gemstones (Michael's dollar spot) act as ornaments.

So cool for Yule!

I just love "joe way cool drummer" from justjohanna's new release!
Since he's so very cool, I thought he'd go well with snowflakes x 2!

The huge honkin' snowflake is a Sizzix die cut from FiberMark's Paperwhites specialty paper, which is glossy and textured, though you could never tell from my scan. Sorry. :-( The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding collection.

The navy card uses a Cuttlebug texture folder thingy on navy paper, which was sanded to show the white core.

If I had a tree, it would look like this.

I'm totally sure that one of my cats would become an ornament.

The patterned paper is by Flair Designs, the diecuts are by QuicKutz, the sentiment is computer generated, though justjohanna just released this sentiment! (yay!)

I can't remember if I've posted this before. If I have, oh well. If not, I hope you like it.

Yo ho ho!

Poor pirates are stranded on a desert island during the holiday season. They're still filled with holiday spirit (and rum) and decide to make the best of their circumstances. Having wings makes it much easier to hang their stockings on the only things available to them!

All stamps are by justjohanna and were colored with chalk, Prismacolor pencils, or Prismacolor markers.

The base paper is a text weight parchment vellum. It's great to stamp and color though it gives an odd effect every now and then. The striped paper is by Daisy D's and the Christmas word paper is from a small 6x6 stash that was a gift to me.

Last night of Chanukah: Another oldie

This one can be seen in Memory Makers Cardmaking for Scrapbookers idea book.

The menorah was pieced then covered with several layers of embossing powder. The dies are all QuicKutz.

DD got the best Chanukah gift ever last night (see previous post), so all in all it's been a memorable holiday!

****Important Announcement****

It's official!
The teenager got a phone message today. She's been accepted to one of her top three colleges!

Yay! Yay! Yay!

Monday's card

The stamps are more of justjohanna's latest release. Isn't the holly gorgeous? I stamped it, colored it with Prismacolor markers, and then die cut it with Sizzlets coffee cup die. Then I cut two more cups on plain paper and pieced it together.

I just love that sentiment too since it can be used for several months and isn't holiday specific.

The papers are from my stash of Flair Designs.

An "oldie" but a "goodie" (imho)

I did this card eons ago using a variety of QK die cuts and punches. It was the first "window scene" card that I made. It's still a favorite. There's real "glass" there that I made from a page protector as the card was made way before transparencies gained popularity. The trees have snow made from sparkly embossing powder, and the "curtains" are patterned vellum.

I still love creating little scenes, especially "window" ones, though lately they've been a combination of computer generated windows (I still love AppleDraw) and stamps.

Early December and Santa's still deciding...

In Priscilla's case, he can't decide whether she should get a catnip mousie or coal in her stocking. She's such a beautiful kitty and can be loving and affectionate. Then on the other hand, she can wreak havoc in the blink of an eye.

Decisions, decisions...

All stamps by justjohanna.

Something different today.

My first paper crafting love was punch art. Then I discovered die cuts and fell for those hard. Then I went to an SU party and discovered rubber stamps.

Here are two cards that don't use any stamps, but use QuicKutz diecuts.

Mocha and pudding! Yummm!

Once again, Basic Grey comes through with another line that works beautifully with justjohanna stamps.

I'm talking about Figgy Pudding of course. I love that it also can be used with the Dasher & Blitzen papers. I'll also reiterate that I totally love the 6x6 pads. The smaller patters are just so wonderful. If you ask me, it was totally brilliant marketing to bring these out to appeal to the cardmakers! Yay.

Anyways, justjohanna's "warm winter wishes" sentiment fits perfectly inside her cute coffee mug. You gotta love that.

I wanted to point out that while purging my sticker stash, I came across Mrs. Grossman's lace border stickers, pulled them out, and used them here.

Snowy holiday card

This holiday card was fun to do in July when it was 98° outside. It made me feel much cooler.

The stamps are spring tree, sylvie right, sylvie left (birds), music staff, treble clef, and note from justjohanna. I used QuicKutz' clear stamps for the "falala".

The tree and birds were colored with watercolor pencils. The sky was inked with Sky Blue Pearlescent Brilliance ink.

I made the spring tree into a winter tree by masking off the leaves prior to stamping and then adding white acrylic paint where snow would accumulate. I sprinkled irridescent glitter onto the wet paint. I did the same thing to the ground and tree roots.

The patterned paper is by EK Success. I bought a 25 pack of it for $1.00 at a warehouse sale and then split it with friends. I certainly have gotten a lot of use from that pack! Ivy Bling specialty paper by FiberMark was used for the holly leaf photo turn die cuts.

A Challenge for December!

Yikes! It's December 4th already! Where did the time go?

Now that the teenager has the bulk of her college applications done (yay!)and the bulk of my Chanumasbirthday shopping is done, my next priority is to clean, purge, declutter, and organize the house. This will bore me to distraction, so I'm also going to try to get my holiday/New Year's cards done and mailed as well as build a stash of thank you and birthday cards.

So my challenge to myself and to you is to create and post a card or project every day during December.

Anyone want to join me? Sign up by commenting below. If you post a link to your daily card and keep meet the challenge of a card/project a day (with links), I'll send you a little prize. That's 31 cards or projects, so get busy!

***Edited***You can comment without signing up for the challenge! :-D

Since Chanukah starts early this year (tonight!) and is before both the teenager's birthday and Christmas, I'll start with 2 Chanukah cards that feature the new and adorable birdie menorah by justjohanna. I used Glaze pens to add dimension to the "candles" and "flames" and either Prismacolor markers or Prismacolor pencils to color the images. Stickles added a bit of "bling" too!

Priscilla, like my cats, likes to live dangerously by hanging out by the lit Menorah. Sometimes her whiskers get singed a bit, but unlike my cats, she has NOT set herself on fire. Priscilla, birdie menorah, and the sentiment (with an "h" at the end) are by justjohanna.

The second small card has enough room for a gift card inside. The silvery vellum arched frame was stamped with silver Brilliance and heat embossed. It is raised on spare QK ejection foam. The stamps are shrubbery and birdie menorah by justjohanna.
