Thanks for visiting today. Have a safe and fun Halloween. Enjoy your Day of the Dead Celebrations!

Notes:
  • The Day of the Dead Angel Rubber Stamp comes in two sizes. I've used the larger of the two for my card.
  • Brusho Crystal Colour Pigment Powders stain. Use a craft mat, wear old clothes and gloves.
  • Adding water to paper can cause it to curl. To flatten it, place the panel between a piece of folded copier paper, place the combination onto the base of a die-cut machine, put both cutting plates. over the panel, and run through the die-cut machine a few times. Sometimes you need to add cardstock or a thin piece of packaging cardboard to the die-cut "sandwich".
  • Products marked with asterisks ( * ) can be purchased at Topflight Stamps.
Have a happy and safe Halloween. If you celebrate the Day of the Dead, enjoy your friends, family, and memories.

Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Thanksgiving (From the Three of Us)

It's Tuesday, which means it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. My cats have been seriously cute lately and Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. Since celebrations will be curtailed, it will only be the three of us and the two cats, who (oddly) don't eat people food. Anyway, the cats and holidays inspired me to create a cat-themed Thanksgiving card using the Kooky Cats Cling Rubber Stamp Set and the Little Kooky Cat Rubber Cling Stamp by Kate Crane for Carabelle Studios.

Here's the card:

  7. Position the Small Kooky Cat stamps face down on the white cardstock between the two masked large Kooky Cats.

  22. Decide that perfection is overrated. Stencil some words here and there along the top portion of the card.
  23. Realize that you had inadvertently stenciled over the edge of the stencil and now have a horizontal line across the image panel.
  24. Decide that you're having a tough day, to embrace imperfection, and brush some horizontal and vertical lines randomly here and there.
  25. Remove all the masks and color the images with Copic markers, using the plaid patterned paper as color inspiration.
  26. Add several layers of Clear Glaze Pen over the glasses and frames on the Little Kooky Cat.

  31. Position the sentiment face down onto the patterned paper.
  32. Press the platform's lid onto the stamp, lift the stamp, ink with Onyx Black VersaFine ink, and stamp the image. Repeat the inking and stamping steps if needed to get a good impression.
  33. Use a die to cut the sentiment.
  34. Edge the sentiment die-cut with grey ink and adhere to the image panel to finish the card.

Toucan Tag

It's Tuesday, which means that it's my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. Today I received a package from Topflight Stamps containing irresistible new stamps by AALL and Create and other goodies. Usually, I admire the stamps and such for a while and let ideas percolate. However, this time I had the overwhelming urge to create a project immediately using the fabulous toucan stamp from AALL and Create's Navigate Home (#323) Clear Stamp Set by Bipasha, which has four awesome collage-style stamps.

BTW, if you'd like to get 12% off your order at Topflight Stamps use THIS LINK.

Here's the tag that I created, which as I look at it, might need a sentiment or something on the upper right. I'll think about it.

I did a quick Google search to check on the coloration of toucans and was a bit surprised to see that there were so many different types. The one above, which is a Toco toucan and has a red/orange flash on its belly plus blue eyes and talons. Sadly, the eyes and talons aren't showing us so well above. :(
