It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday! Chou and Flowers is our product focus this week! Their whimsical and wonderful Altitude Winter Story Clear Stamp Set features book dwellings and a lovely fairy, so I created a scenic card with it.

Stamping Platform

Instructions:

1. Create an A6 card from Ash Textured Cardstock. Set aside.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the fairy from the Altitude Winter Story Clear Stamp Set twice — once onto a panel of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
3. Heat set the Bristol paper version. 
4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version adding some curved volume along the left hand side of her hair. 
5. Place the sticker paper version atop the fairy on the Bristol paper as a mask.
6. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the books from the Altitude Winter Story Clear Stamp Se twice — once onto the right side of the fairy on the Bristol paper panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
7. Heat set the Bristol paper version of the book houses. 
8. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
9. Clean and dry the books stamp and reposition it next to the other set of books.
10. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the books twice — once on the Bristol paper panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
11. Heat set the image panel. 
12. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it atop its counterpart. 
13. Use the two tree dies from the Roadway Vistas Die Set 78 by AALL and Create to cut sticker paper. 
14. Place the sticker paper trees on either side of the books on the image panel. 
15. Place a piece of scrap acetate horizontally over the image panel slightly above the base of the book houses and the trees. 
16. Sponge or brush Pumice Stone Distress Ink over the the tape onto the base of the image panel.
17. Clean and dry the acetate and place it on across the image panel, covering the grey area. 
18. Brush Tumbled Blue Distress Ink over the top of the acetate and the masked images to create a blue sky. 
19. Brush Della Blue Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the sky to deepen the sky's color.
20. Use a water-filled Mini Fine Spray Mister by Spectrum Noir and lightly mist the image panel. 
21. Thoroughly heat set the image panel.
22. Lift all masks and color the image panel with Copic markers. 
23. Use the Bold Stardust Clear Glittering Gelly Roll Gel Ink Pen by Sakura and a Colorless Blender to color the fairy's wings.
24. Wipe the excess glitter off of the Blender's Nib.
25. Rinse the nib of the blender with Colorless Blender solution.
26. Mist the image panel with Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz. Wipe the spray bottle's nozzle with a paper towel.
27. Use a paper towel to dab any big blots. 
28. Heat set the panel, then mist it again with the Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz to deepen the glittery loveliness. Clean the spray bottle's nozzle again.
29. Use a die from a rectangle A6 die set to cut the image panel. 
30. Use the next largest die to cut white textured cardstock. 
31. Mat the image panel die cut with the white cardstock.
32. Adhere the matted image panel to the reserved grey A6 card. 
33. Add a sentiment sticker from the Sentiment Stickers 6 from the Uplifting Collection to finish the card.

Stamping Platform

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of Bittersweet Chocolate cardstock to 8.5" x 5.5". Score at 4.25" and fold to form an A2 card. Set aside.
2. Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink to stamp the scene onto Bristol paper and heat set. 
3. Color the truck, windmill, planter, and the sack of eggs with watercolor pencils. Blend the watercolors using a wet paintbrush.
4. Use silver watercolor to add a metallic touch to the windmill's vanes, the truck's bumpers, mirrors, and one of the pails, then go over the silver with a rust-colored watercolor pencils (and a wet paintbrush) to add rusty spots to the metal elements and to the truck itself.
5. Using a ruler and a dark brown watercolor pencil, draw a line to ground the scene's elements, then use brown watercolor pencils and a wet paintbrush to add a sand/dirt foreground. 
6. Place one of the mountain masks from the Acetate Hills Masks/Stencils horizontally across the top part of the image. 
7. Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Ink over the top of the mask to create a blue sky. 
8. Leaving the mountain mask in place, trace the top of it with a dark green watercolor pencil.
9. Remove the mountain mask.
10. Place the rolling hills mask from the Acetate Hills Masks/Stencils horizontally below the mountains and trace the top of it with a dark green watercolor pencil. 
11. Move the mask downwards and a bit to the side and trace the top of the mask again.
12. Use several green watercolor pencils to color in the mountains, hills, and valleys. Use a wet brush to blend the watercolors.
13. Trim the image panel to 3" x 4.25" and edge it with Della Blue Elements Ink.
14. Using a stamping platform and Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, stamp the sentiments onto the image panel. Heat set.
15. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 3.25" x 4.5". 
16. Use the Silver Ingot Metallic Marker from the Essential Metallics Colorista Marker Set to add a .25" silver border all around the perimeter of the white cardstock. Heat set. 
17. Use the Burnished Copper Metallic Marker from the Essential Metallics Colorista Marker Set to edge the panel. While the copper ink is still wet, use your finger to smear it over the silver background. Heat set, then use this panel to mat the image panel.
18. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5.25" for the background panel. Use a Lavinia Blender  to apply Acorn VersaFine Clair Inks over the panel. Heat set.  
19. Position the Foliage Border Stencil along onto one side of the image panel with the foliage facing the center of the panel. 
20. Use a Lavinia Blender to sponge Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink over the stencil onto the side of the paper. 
21. Repeat this process three times to create a stenciled background panel. 
22. Remove the stencil, edge the panel with Sponge Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink, and heat set.
23. Adhere the background panel to the reserved dark brown A2 card. 
24. Adhere the image panel to complete the card.

Notes:

• Use metallic markers or paint to turn inexpensive white cardstock into metallic paper.
• Save time and money by creating your own patterned paper. 
• Save time by only adding color, patterns, or both to the outside edges of a paper panel. Obviously, that only works when the layer is covered.

As a crazy cat lady, I have a sizeable collection of cat-themed crafting products, so when I saw the adorable Meow 1 Clear Stamp Set, I just had to have it!

Notes:

When building card scenes, I tend to do a lot of masking. I like to use repositionable label paper because it's inexpensive and readily available. The first step of my process is to determine which image(s) should be in the foreground and which image(s) should be towards the back. 

I use a stamping platform to help position the stamps and to re-stamp if necessary.

My process is to stamp an image onto the image panel and onto label paper, which is fussy-cut and placed over its counterpart.  This process is repeated until I have all my images stamped and masked. Then the background is added, usually with ink, and additional stamping and/or stenciling is used to enhance the background.

Instructions:

1. Cut Avalanche cardstock to 5.5" x 8.5".
2. Score at 4.25" and fold to form an A2 card.
3. Cut a piece of patterned paper from the Bloom and Wild 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad by Craft Consortium to 5.25" x 4" and adhere to the card. Set aside.
4. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the sleeping cat, then the radiator, the reaching cat, and the chair onto the image panel and onto repositionable label paper as noted above. 
5. When all the images are masked, cut the image panel with one of the dies from the stitched Rectangle die set.
6. Leave the image panel in the die. 
7. Place Repositionable tape horizontally under the radiator, couch, and cat.
8. Brush Angel Pink Memento ink over the die and onto the image panel to create a pink background. 
9. Place the Circus Flower Border Stencil atop the image panel and brush Angel Pink Memento ink was over the stencil and the back of the die onto the image panel to add a pattern to the background. 
10. Move the stencil down towards the base of the card and line up the pattern. 
11. Brush Angel Pink Memento ink over the stencil again to complete the top area of the background.
12. Move the repositionable tape to cover the pink area of the image panel. 
13. Brush Bamboo Leaves Memento ink over the tape and the back of the die onto the base of the image panel. 
14. Remove the tape and the masks and retain for another use
15. Remove the image panel from the die.
16. Use Copic markers to color the image panel. I colored the cats to look somewhat like my lastest pair of cats, who are white with grey markings on their heads, necks, and one tail.
17. Use Glitter gel pens to add glittery touches to the tassel cat toy hanging off of the radiator.
18. Use Onyx Black VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko to stamp the sentiment as shown.
