Spring Garden WindowRama Calendar

Stampendous' new WindowRama Kits are so fabulously versatile. I love that the kits can be used alone or in combination with the WindowRama Die Set.

Here's my 2020 WindowRama calendar which uses the wonderful new Cling Spring Garden Rubber Stamp with the Circle Chipboard WindowRama Kit.

Instructions:

1. Apply gesso to both sides of two squares and two rectangles from the Circle WindowRama Kit. 
2. Mix Translucent White with Cerulean Blue MFA paint, then paint all the pieces. Heat set.
3. Apply a coat of Matte Medium to all surfaces. Heat set.
4. Sponge Watering Can Archival ink over the stencil from the Grunge Script Cling Rubber Stamp set onto painted background of the two squares. Heat set.
5. Apply a coat of Matte Medium over the stenciled squares. Heat set.
6. Stamp the Spring Garden Rubber with Jet Black Archival ink onto the two squares. Heat set.
7. Apply a coat of Matte Medium over the stamped squares and heat set.
8. Paint the flowers and the butterflies with MFA paints. Heat set.
9. Seal both painted squares with Matte Medium and heat set.
10. Use the dies to cut 2020 from black cardstock. Seal the cardstock with Matte Medium.
11. Adhere the date as shown, then seal with Matte Medium.
12. If necessary, touch up stamped images with the black Pitt Artist Brush pen.
13. Use Jet Black StazOn to edge all the pieces.
14. Follow the instructions to assemble the WindowRama using Gaffer's Tape.
15. Adhere the calendar.

I Choose a Positive (c)Attitude!

This week's Stampotique Designer's Challenges (#261) is "Human with an Animal Head". Here's a blurb about the challenge:

"The possibilities are endless. Use a human Stampotique body and add a Stampotique animal head. Everything is okay with this challenge as long as you do not digitally alter any of the stamps."

Here's a journal page with Toby (Daniel Torrente) and Nerd Cat (Kira Nichols).

Toby and Nerd Cat were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts). They were both decapitated, colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and edged with a Black Pitt Artist pen (Faber Castell) and set aside. 

A journal page was brayered with layers of Dioxazine Purple, Quinacridone Magenta, Cerulean Blue, Ultra Marine Blue, Medium Grey Value 6, and Translucent White Media Fluid Acrylic (MFA) paint (DecoArt, then heat set.

Titanium White Media Fluid Acrylic paint was sponged over certain words and designs from the Text and Texture Transform stencil (Stencil) girl. White Simply Sweet rub-ons (Doodlebug) were used to add the date to the bottom of the page). Big Chit-Chat stickers (Idea-ology) and a capital "C" sticker were added to the page. A strip of washi tape was added horizontally. The page was then coated with a layer of Media Matte Medium to seal the stickers, rub-ons and washi tape.

New Canvas Palette ink (Stewart Superior) was sponged over the Positive Times stencil (Green Pepper Press) and the Jigsaw Puzzle stencil (Stencil Girl), then heat-set.

Toby with Nerd Cat's head was adhered to the page with Media Matte Medium then the page was sealed with another layer of Media Matte Medium. Several layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura) were added to Nerd Cat's to add a touch of glossy dimension.

I think that Toby with Nerd Cat's head looks very hipster. I will also admit that the page itself was inspired by Tuesday's election results.

Worn and Tattered ATC Trade: Old Timey Frog

Here's the second ATC made when I took a piece of 140 lb. Mixed Media cardstock (Strathmore), cut two 2.25" x 3.25" pieces from it, applied Media Gesso (DecoArt) heavily to one piece, pressed the second piece of cardstock onto the wet gesso, left it for a few seconds, then pulled it away which left a lovely texture on both pieces. 

After the Media Gesso dried,  Old Timey Frog (Kira Nichols) was stamped with Jet Black Archival ink (Ranger). Old Timey Frog and the background were colored with a combination of Distress markers (Ranger) and some old Zig Photo Twin markers (EK Success).  

A Post-It Note was applied over the the base of the image and the Barcode (France Papillon) was  stamped with Leaf Green Archival ink (Ranger).

Just keep on keepin' on (Kate Crane) was stamped with Jet Black Archival ink, cut apart, and edged with Black Distress ink (Ranger) . The edges of the image panel were tattered, then the card was matted with black cardstock.

Green and silver metallic cardstock was die-cut with the Tiny Gears die (Memory Box) and added to the back wheel of the cycle.

Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a photo of the card that accompanied this atc on its trip to Canada, but it was posted on Facebook!
