Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of Avalanche cardstock to 10" x 7". Score at 5" and fold to form a 7" x 5" card. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the butterfly from the Tracy Scott 74 (TS074) Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set twice: once onto a 6.75" x 4.75" panel of white cardstock and again onto repositionable sticker paper*.
  3. Fussy-cut the sticker paper butterfly and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.
  4. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink and a stamping platform to stamp the cogs from the Tracy Scott 74 (TS074) Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set around the butterfly on the image panel and onto repositionable sticker paper. Note that some of the cogs go off of the image panel.
  5. Work with one cog at a time, being sure to thoroughly clean the cog stamps between impressions as you don't want to create an inky mess.
  6. Fussy-cut all of the cogs and place them over their counterparts on the image panel as masks.
  7. Move the image panel onto the STAY-tion and secure it with magnets.
  8. Brush Summer Sky Memento Ink and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the masks onto the image panel to add color to the background.
  9. Place the Swirls Pattern Thick Stencil over the image panel and brush the same blue inks over the stencil onto the image panel.*
  10. Remove the stencil.
  11. Move the image panel back onto the stamping platform, secured with magnets.
  12. Position the flowers from the Tracy Scott 53 (TS0530 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set facedown into the center of the cogs.
  13. Press the platform lid onto the back of the stamps and lift.
  14. Ink the flower stamps with Summer Sky Ink and stamp. *
  15. Remove the flower stamps from the platform, clean, and dry.
  16. Place the flower stamps facedown at the top of the image panel.
  17. Press the platform lid onto the back of the stamps and lift.
  18. Ink the flower stamps with Summer Sky Ink and stamp.
  19. Repeat Steps 15 - 18, moving the flower stamp over the masked butterfly body.
  20. Remove all of the masks and color the cogs and butterflies with Copic markers.
  21. Place the image panel back onto the base of the stamping platform, secured with magnets.
  22. Position the "Soar" sentiment from the Tracy Scott 53 (TS0530 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set facedown onto the image panel as shown.
  23. Press the platform lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  24. Ink the sentiment stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain a good impression.
  25. Use a multiliner to add a flight trail below the butterfly. *
  26. Adhere the card front to the reserved white 7" x 5" card.
Notes:
  • You might note that Avery's Repositionable Label Paper is now known as Repositionable Sticker Paper. They've discontinued the 25 pack and raised the prices.
  • I used Memento and Distress inks as they are Copic friendly. I knew I'd have touch-ups from the dreaded "halo effect" when masking.
  • If you're eagle-eyed, you'll note that the flower stamp meant to go into the center of the bottom right hand cog shifted position. Sadly I did not notice until it was stamped. So I tried to make it better. Besides, imperfection adds charm, don'tchaknow.
  • I suck at adding hand-drawn elements. I tense up and make mistakes. That add charm. Yep.

Instructions:

Step 1:
Sponge Dandelion Memento randomly over a 4” panel of Bristol paper or other hydrophilic paper. Repeat with Canteloupe, Tangelo, and Rose Bud Memento inks until the panel is covered with colors and the inks are blended.

Step 2:

Spray the panel with Ink Potion No. 9. Let the solution sit for a minute. Heat set.

Step 3:

Use magnets to secure the ink-sponged panel to a stamping platform. Arrange the flower and leaf clear stamps from the Florals Set 1 facedown on the panel. Ink the stamps with Nocturne VersaFine Ink and stamp. Heat set the panel.

Step 4:

Smoosh the Cottage Ivy Memento Dew Drop Ink Pad onto the craft mat. Mist with water. Use a paint brush to apply diluted green ink to the leaves. Repeat this process with New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves Memento Ink to color the other leaves.

Smoosh the Rose Bud Memento Dew Drop Ink Pad onto the craft mat. Mist with water. Use a paint brush to apply the ink to the flowers. Repeat this process with Dandelion Memento ink pads.

Heat set the panel thoroughly.

Step 5:

Fussy-cut the flowers and the leaves. Edge with a dark marker.

Step 6:

Sponge a 4.5 x 6” panel of Bristol paper with Blue Danube and Paris Dusk Memento Ink onto the panel to create a blended blue background panel.

Step 7:

Spray the panel with Ink Potion No. 9. Let the solution sit for a minute. Heat set.

Step 8:

Use removable tape to secure the inked panel to the back of the Ornate Stencil.

Sponge Blue Danube Ink over the stencil onto the panel.

Remove the stencil and heat set the ink.

Trim the panel to 4.25”. Add the washi tapes to the bottom of the panel as shown.

Edge the entire panel with Nocturne VersaFine Clair and heat set.

Step 9:

Sponge a 2.5” strip of Bristol paper with Potters Clay and London Fog Memento Ink onto the strip until it is covered with blended ink.

Step 10:

Spray the sponged strip with Ink Potion No. 9. Let the solution sit for a minute. Heat set.

Step 11:

Secure the strip onto the Stamping Platform. Position the Terracotta Pot Eclectic Rubber Stamp facedown on the strip. Ink the stamps with Nocturne VersaFine Ink and stamp. Heat set the panel.

Step 12:

Fussy-cut the planter.

Step 13:

Smoosh the Potter’s Clay Memento Dew Drop Ink Pad onto the craft mat. Mist with water. Use a paint brush to shade the planter.

Edge the planter with a black marker. Heat set the planter.

Step 14:

Use Tear It! Tape to adhere the Terracotta pot to the image panel.

Step 15:

Use foam adhesive to adhere the flowers to the card front. Add the sentiment sticker to the top left.

Step 16:

Cut a piece of Raven cardstock to 9” x 6.25”, score at 4”, and fold to form a card.

Use Tear It! Tape to adhere the image panel to the card.
