Miss Dee, Crazy Cat Lady Journal Page

It's Tuesday, my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps.  This week my teammates and I are showcasing AALL and Create's wonderful products. It's no secret that I love and identify with Janet Klein's Miss Dee character. Nor is it a secret that I'm a crazy cat lady. Therefore, I had to have the Cat Lady Dee Clear Stamp Set 777 and have made an art journal page with it.

Here's the journal page.

Instructions:
  1. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp  Cat Lady Dee twice, once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable label paper.
  2. Fussy-cut the label paper version of Miss Dee and place her over her counterpart as a mask.
  3. True confessions: since I wanted to stamp the cats separately, I cut the two-cat stamp from the Cat Lady Dee Clear Stamp Set 777 apart. The cats were actually happier that way. As a crazy cat lady, I know.
  4. Using a stamping platform, stamp the cats onto the image panel on either side of Miss Dee on the image panel and onto label paper.
  5. Fussy-cut the label paper cats and place them atop their counterparts as masks.
  6. Thoroughly clean and dry the cat stamps.
  7. Reposition the cat stamps face-down over the masked cats on the image panel where desired.
  8. Ink the cat stamps and stamp onto the image panel and onto label paper.
  9. Repeat Steps #5 through 8 until you have all the cat images you want and they're all covered with repositionable label paper masks.
  10. Take a moment to be thankful for stamping platforms!
  11. When Miss Dee and the cats are all masked, use magnets to secure the image panel to the STAY-tion.
  12. Place a ruler horizontally across the cats' and Miss Dee's paws. Secure it with a magnet. Or two.
  13. Brush Graphite Elements Ink over the ruler onto the image panel.
  14. Lift the ruler and clean.
  15. Place the ruler back onto the image panel covering the bottom part of the image panel.
  16. Brush Violet Chalk Elements Ink over the image panel to add color to the background.
  17. With the ruler still in place, place the Mosaic Stencil #54 by AALL and Create over the image panel and secure with magnets.
  18. Brush Della Blue Elements Ink over the stencil onto the image panel to add visual interest.
  19. Remove the stencil, ruler, and all the masks from the image panel.
  20. Use Copic markers to color all the images.
  21. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to all the eyes and to Miss Dee's earrings.*
  22. Use the lavender chalk pencil to cover any mask halos.
  23. Use the black chalk pencil to add shadows below the cats' and Mis Dee's paws.
  24. Use a black Multiliner pen to correct any linework obliterated by the masks.
  25. Place the image panel back into the stamping platform.
  26. Position the sentiment from the Cat Lady Dee Clear Stamp Set 777 face-down on the image panel as shown.
  27. Ink the sentiment stamp with Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink if necessary to achieve a good impression.
  28. Heat set the sentiment.
  29. Trim the image panel, corner round it with a punch, then edge it with Violet Chalk and Graphite Elements Inks.
  30. Brush the paw print and "meow" patterned paper with Violet Chalk Elements Ink.
  31. Tear the paper then adhere to the journal page.
  32. Edge the page with Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink and heat set.
  33. Adhere the image panel to the journal page.
Notes:
  • I know that cats don't have human style of eyes, but I followed the illustration on the packaging for highlights. I'm sneaky like that.
  • My corner rounder, from Creative Memories, is old enough to drink, drive, vote, and serve. Just like my PT Cruiser.
I shall enter this tag into the following challenge(s).
