Summer Cool

Our challenge this week at Outlawz Alcohol Markers Challenges is Anything Goes with a Christmas/Winter Holiday option.

June's sponsor for the Outlawz Alcohol Markers Challenges is Delicious Doodles.  The prize is four digis of the winner's choice from Teri's shop.  She has some amazing digis, so be sure to check it out her shop, then play along with this week's challenge for a chance to win this prize!

Here's my card that uses Delicious Doodles' Mistletoe Kiss.

Mistletoe Kiss was slightly resized in PhotoElements then printed onto Neenah cardstock using my laser printer. The image was then colored with Copic markers to match the very old Wassail 6x6 pad by Basic Grey.

I must admit that I made a rather huge color mistake. I didn't realize that mistletoe berries are white and/or pink white. My confused brain thought they were red. HOLLY berries are red, not mistletoe... Oops. PSA, don't eat mistletoe leaves, they're poisonous.

Anyway, her nails got a touch of Clear Spica Glitter pen and all the miscolored berries and her nails received several coats of Clear Gelly Glaze pen to make 'em shiny and dimensional.

The sentiment was stamped onto a die-cut and gemstones were used to finish the card.

Voodoo Magic!

Our challenge this week at Outlawz Alcohol Markers is "Inspired by a Song, Book, or Movie Title".

We have a brand new sponsor for the June Alcohol Markers Challenges.  For the month of June, we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles.  The prize is 4 digis of the winner's choice from Teri's shop.  She has some amazing digis, so be sure to check it out!

Here's my card that uses Voodoo Woman by Delicious Doodles.

The truth is that I just love this image and wanted to use it. There are so many great references, but I went with Black Magic Woman, which was written by Peter Green, then covered to much acclaim by Santana. This song came out when I was a teen, so the song evokes so many different memories.

Voodoo Woman was resized in PhotoElements and printed out onto Neenah Cardstock using my laser printer. It was colored with Copic markers, which I'll list below since I used some new color combos for the skin and hair. When I was done coloring it, I added some Clear Gelly Glaze pen on the earring, her nails, and on the pin heads.

The patterned paper is from the Little Black Dress collection by Basic Grey. I had just the one sheet in 12x12 and have no recollection of purchasing it. I'm glad I had it because it matches the color I used for her dress.

I used a ribbon die from Die-Namics and some lace from my stash, which was attached with my Tiny Attacher. The flowers are white fabric flowers that I stacked and then added a small black flower from Doodlebug. A skull bead and some other beads were added to a corsage pin and stabbed into the flower. A Barbed Wire die by Die-Namics and photo corners die by QuicKutz were used to die-cut Flashing Tape.
