Notes:
  • The Steampunk Darlings Accessories Clear Stamp Set is sold out, but there are still others available at Topflight Stamps. They're great fun, especially if you like Steampunk imagery and also like Animé.
  • Sponging dye ink onto white metallic cardstock yields lovely shimmery color.
  • Retrospectively, I should have used white detail embossing powder to heat emboss the spider web.
  • White Hybrid ink sometimes does not play nicely with VersaFine ink, which is a pigment ink.

  31. Adhere the sentiment onto the blue cardstock as shown.
  32. Secure the blue panel to a 5.5" x 8.5" grey card.
Note: I ordinarily would have used a black chalk pencil to detail the brick wall and window area. Alas, my pencil sharpeners are "somewhere safe" and my second black chalk pencil has a broken lead. Hence, I decided to use my Copics. It worked fairly well for the the details on the bricks and mortar, but was decidedly less successful on the windows' outlines and shadows. Perfection is overrated, so I need to get over my Virgo self.

Happy "Talk Like a Pirate" Day!

"Ahoy, Matey! Did you know that today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day? It's a day just for fun, a day to let out the pirate in each of us. We like "just for fun" days and we know you do, too.

Practice up your "pirate-speak" in anticipation of this day. The conversation will be lively, and you don't want to be left behind. Today, everyone will be talking the talk, if not walking the walk. It is not a requirement to dress like a pirate today. Just talk like one. "

  • I used first and second generation stamping for both the foliage stamps.

Seagull at the Sea Shore

It's Tuesday which means it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps!  I love visiting the beach especially during the offseason when it's a bit more serene. And nothing says the beach more than a seagull, except a seagull perched on a pier!

Here's a slimline card that I created with the Counting Seagulls Unmounted Rubber Stamp by Crafty Individuals and the compass stamp from the Eclectica ESC11 by Scrapcosy Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp Set  for PaperArtsy.  Prism Inks by Hunkydory Crafts were used with the clouds portion of the Great Outdoors Stencil by Polkadoodles to create a cloudy sky. The image panel and a mat layer were cut with the Essential Rectangle Frames Slimline Die Set by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.
