March Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop!!!

Kas, Bombshell's new Hump Day Hop Captain, set the theme, "Metallic-Art" for this month's hop. We were challenged to use metal with our Bombshell Stamps to produce a card or a project. This was a fun one for me since I have scads of metal embellishments that I had to have back when I was scrapbooking more regularly.

Here's my card.

I used the Speed Shop set and colored the car with Copic Markers. I think I'm addicted to those things! The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket. The metallic circles ("Search", "Discover", "Adventure") and metal photo corners are from Making Memories.

Now that you've seen my take, go visit all the other hoppers for some serious eye candy!

Remember every comment gives you another chance at winning the March Prize Package. Don't forget you can also enter the Sketch Challenge and the Monthly Challenge forEVEN MORE chances to win! You'd better hurry though, since today's the last day for those!!

Here is the list of this month's Hump Day Hoppers.

A Two-Fer! A Party Animal Pencil Box!

Hi! This pencil box meets two challenges! Actually, a contest and a challenge. Blockheads Paper Arts has a contest running to create something using either Blockhead or Lost Coast Stamps.

Alison, who is on Smeared & Smudged AND is one of the monthly Bombshell Stamps Pin-Ups, told me about a current challenge over at Stamp Insanity to create something that holds something.

I decided to use my Lost Coast Party Hat Cats and Wing Set (on the cat in the glass) to decorate a pencil box, which was plain black in its original incarnation.

I stamped the cats (with the wings added to one) onto plain white cardstock and colored the images with Copic markers. I used Sakura glitter markers to add some bling and Glaze pens to add some dimension to the cats' eyes and to the glass.

The patterned paper is from Crafty Secrets and I think it works perfectly with these fun party animals. I used Copper Stickles to add some bling/interest to the edges and to camouflage some rough edges.

Bad Blogger Award!

March's Bad Blogger Award goes to me! It's not like I haven't been creating cards and such. I have been busy with a multi-card project that can't be shared at the moment. Let's hope you'll see it in print in 2011. Now everyone cross your fingers and hope along with me. Thank you.

Anyways, here's a card that I can share!

Lynette, the lovely, gracious, and generous owner of Sweet Pea stamps donated a set of unmounted rubber stamps to the ladies on Smeared & Smudged's Design Team. This card features the Love is Gone stamp from ching-chou-kuik's Fantasy Collection by Sweet Pea Stamps. The image was colored with Copic markers and accented with a silver glitter pen by Sakura. The patterned paper is from Crafty Secrets and I think it's perfect for this stamp! The border is a CuttleBug die, which I cut from silver paper and accented with gems. The cardstock is from Club Scrap. It's a lovely blue with silver speckles. I'm so glad I'm a paper hoarder. :D

BTW, Smeared & Smudged is holding a Blog Hop next Thursday, April 1st. These ladies are mad talented and definitely think outside the box. Go check out the info. Maybe you'll even want to hop along with us!

Thanks for visiting today!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This card uses Bombshell's March sketch and the Lady Luck set. I changed the banner with rub-ons. After I adhered the sentiment, I had an "aha" moment. I should have made the banner read "Erin Go Bra-Less". Oh well. Next year.

Wishing you all a wonderful St. Patrick's Day and a load o' good luck!

Bombshell's Booty-Log challenge!

Bombshell Stamps' Miss March, Patti (aka Stigmom), has issued a challenge to create a "Booty Log". In the paper-crafting world this translates to an altered book of some kind. It can be a journal, notebook, diary, really any type of book you wish!

"Booty Log" CONTEST GUIDELINES CONTEST ENDS MARCH 31, 2010
Your creation must include the following:
1. use a Bombshell Stamp somewhere
2. project must be a book of some kind
3. post a photo of your "Booty Log" in this thread on Bombshell's forum!

It must be noted that you can win a fabulous prize!!!

I decided to make a Copic Notebook so that I could jot down the color combos I use for skin, hair, grass, sky, trees, and other stuff, since my memory is shot. The notebook also has a super-keen Inventory Page that I got from a pdf by the very talented and generous Rachel, which you can find at her blog, Copic Munkie.

Here it is!

I used my new Bombshell Sugar Daddy set, colored with Copic markers, used a little judicious masking, sketched in a sketch marker, and added glittery stickers by Making Memories to the banners. The papers are by Basic Grey. I sprayed a few coats of Super Seal by Creative Imaginations over the notebook to protect it from grease, grime, ink, paint, and cat fur -- not in that order. I also used my woefully underused, by still beloved, Bind-it-all. Oh. The notebook measures 4.75" x 6".

I'll share the pages of the journal with you as I complete them. BTW, if you'd like me to list the markers I use in my "schtuff", let me know.

Thanks for visiting and now go move your booty to meet the Booty-Log challenge. I'm sure your creation will be "booty-full". ;-D

Smeared & Smudged Challenge: "The Shining"

Each month, each Smeared & Smudged Design Team member has to create a card for a specifically assigned themed "group". This month, I drew the "Oh! The Horror" group, whose challenge was to create a card/project based on The Shining, which is one of my favorite movies from that genre.

Since I don't have any particularly scary stamps, this is what I came up with and I think it works and is more "me" anyway.

The wolf is from the Sugar Daddy set by Bombshell stamps, which is on sale now! "Hi" is from Bombshell's Classic Tattoo Alphabet set. The hole in the door is a stamp from Third Coast Rubber Stamps.

The wolf was colored with Copic markers. I hummed Warren Zevon's Werewolves of London ("Better not let him in!") while coloring, which made it even more fun. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket. The hinges and door knob base are QuicKutz dies from silver metallic paper by FiberMark. I colored a pearl button silver for the door knob.

Smeared & Smudged Blog Hop!

Yahoo! It's time for a blog hop with the talented ladies who frequent Smeared & Smudged!.

Here's my card!

I used ching-chou-kuik's Black Rose Fairy by Sweet Pea Stamps. I colored her with Copic markers, added some glittery details with Sakura Glitter pens, and then chalked the background lightly with green chalk. The patterned paper is by Crafty Secrets. Her hair photographed a bit greener than it is in real life. It is a light blonde in person.

Now that you've seen my card, hop on over to the next person on the list below!

Here's the list:
