Magical Adventure

It's Tuesday, which means that it's my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week my TFS teammates and I are sharing projects using stencils. You should pop by the TFS blog throughout the week to see what the this talented group of ladies have done this week.
BTW, if you'd like to get 12% off your order at Topflight Stamps use THIS LINK.

Here's my piece using the Steampunkesque Cling Mounted Stamp Set by IndigoBlu, which has four wonderful Steampunk images and three sentiments. I opted to use the flying man image, which is rather iconic.

I used the following stencils:  Great Outdoors Stencil by PolkaDoodlesKay Carley PS080 Stencil by PaperArtsy, the Journey Stencil by Darkroom Door, and the Cogged Up Stencil by Andy Skinner for Creative Expressions.

Instructions and Photos:

3. Place mask over the stamped image.

4. Sponge Periwinkle ink over the Clouds portion of the Great Outdoors Stencil.

5. Move stencil down, sponge Periwinkle ink again.

6. Continue this process until the blue cloudy sky extends to the base of the image panel.

7. Repeat Steps 4 - 6, sponging Pink Jellybean Prism ink more randomly.

8. Remove the Great Outdoors Stencil, clean it, and put it away. (hahahaha).

9. Take the Kay Carley stencil and place it over the base of the image, secured with magnets.

10. Sponge Dusky Rose, Fire Coral, Purple Velvet Prism Ink over the stencil.

11. Remove the stencil and take the image panel off of the STAY-tion.

12. Remove the mask from the image and reserve for another use.

13. Color the image with Copic markers.

14. Trim the image panel as desired and mat with silver metallic cardstock.

15. Using a rectangle die, cut black cardstock. Use the next largest die to cut silver cardstock.

16. Secure the black die-cut to the STAY-tion, place the word from the Journey stencil as desired, place scrap paper, Post-Its, or whatever to isolate the word, and secure with magnets.

17. Scrape black modeling paste over the stencil. Remove the stencil and clean immediately. (for real).

18. Sprinkle the modeling paste with embossing powder, dump of the excess, heat set, and set aside.

*Now I'm a bad me and didn't take any more photos. Sorry.

19. Place a piece of silver metallic cardstock onto the STAY-tion. Place the All Cogged Up stencil on the left of the cardstock running vertically. Secure with magnets.

20. Sponge/brush Black Soot Distress Oxide over the stencil onto the silver cardstock. Lift the stencil. Heat set.

21. Randomly sponge/brush Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Ink over then stencil onto the silver cardstock. Lift the stencil and heat set.

22. Repeat step 21 with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. Lift the stencil and heat set.

23. Randomly sponge Wilted Violet here and there. Heat set.

23. Flip the stencil 180° vertically and repeat steps 19 - 23.

24. Repeat step 23 and 19-22. **Saving myself some typing.

25. Trim each cog row to 2.25" and edge with the same Distress Oxide inks you used.

26. Edge all three pieces with Black Soot Distress ink.

27. Cut a piece of black cardstock and adhere the Cog strips as shown.

28. Double mat as shown.

29. Adhere the image panel.

30. Sponge the embossed raised sentiment die-cut with Rusty Hinge and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks and mat with silver die-cut.

31. Adhere the matted sentiment strip to finish the piece.
