Dream

It's Tuesday, which means that it's my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps! This week, my TFS teammates and I are featuring That's Crafty's fabulous stamps, stencils, and other products. Be sure to check the blog and Topflight's other social media to see the art created by my talented teammates!

My card features the gorgeous Boho Vibes Clear Stamp Set 1 by Ingrid Kristina V, which contains a large, beautiful dreamcatcher and three sentiments. As sometimes happens, this card decided what it wanted to be and I went along for the ride. I had decided to use my sad, neglected Derwent and General watercolor pencils to color the image, then was going to add a background using Brusho Crystal ColorsCrystal Colours. However, once I finished coloring the image, I decided that the image was enough to carry the card and left a white background with a torn gold-leafed edge.

Here's my card, that will fit into a #10 business envelope:

Instructions:
  1.  Cut a piece of cardstock to 8.25" x 9.25", score at 4 1/8", and fold to form a tall card that will fit in a #10 envelope.
  2. Use Onyx Black ink to stamp the Dreamcatcher onto Mixed Media cardstock.
  3. Sprinkle with Crystal Embossing Powder, dump off excess, and heat set.
  4. Using watercolor pencils and a water-pen or paint brush, watercolor the image.
  5. Use the Paint Pens to add details.
  6. Use Gold pens to add detail to the setting for the crystal.
  7. Coat the crystal with several layers of Glaze pen, letting the ink dry between layers.
  8. Trim the image panel, then distress the edge with a distressing tool or a scissor blade. I like to use both.
  9. Coat the distressed edges with Krylon Gold Leaf pen.
  10. Adhere the image panel to the card.
  11. Spritz a piece of watercolor paper with water. Sprinkle on Purple, Violet, and Ultramarine Brusho Crystal Colors. Watch the colors bloom.
  12. Spritz with water again. Press another piece of watercolor paper onto the Brusho'ed paper. Sprinkle on more Brushos, spritz with water, then heat set. See below for photos of the papers.
  13. Use the "Dream" die to cut the Brushoed paper and realize that the sentiment gets lost. Set the Brushoed papers aside for another day.
  14. Use the Gold Leaf pen to color the sentiment.
  15. Adhere the sentiment to finish the card.
