Home Is Where The Heart Is

Public Service Announcement!
There's a great stencil sale going on right now at Topflight Stamps!

Now back to business!

This week the Topflight Stamps team has a color challenge! We're using Pink and Red. I was so inspired by the color scheme that I've made two cards for the challenge.

Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of Bristol paper to 6" square.
  2. Place the large open heart part of the Cascading Hearts Stencilover the the paper and secure it with magnets or low-tack tape.
  3. Brush Cotton Candy ink over the heart shaped aperture.
  4. Place a piece of low-tack tape horizontally about 1.5" from the bottom point of the heart.
  5. Brush Cotton Candy ink over the tape to deepen the color.
  6. Remove the stencil and horizontal tape.
  7. Place the image panel onto a stamping platform. Position the Meadow Cottage Clear Polymer Stamp facedown atop the horizontal line.
  8. Ink the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento Inkand stamp it twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  9. Use Copic markers to color the Meadow Cottage
  10. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Meadow Cottage and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  11. Place the large open heart part of the Cascading Hearts Stencil back over the image panel, taking care to line it up exactly. Secure it in place with magnets or low-tack tape.
  12. Place the Ornate Stencil over the heart stencil and the masked house. Secure the stencil with magnets or low-tack tape.
  13. Brush the Cotton Candy ink over the stencil onto the center of the heart to add a tone-on-tone pattern.
  14. Remove both stencils.
  15. Place the heart mask over the stenciled heart so that it completely covers the heart and the masked Meadow Cottage. Secure it with magnets. That's the joy of my new Glassboard. I <3 it.
  16. Brush Champagne Pink ink over the heart mask to color the background around the central heart.
  17. Use a water-filled Fine Spray Mister to mist the image panel. The ink I used is reactive with water, which resulted in some splotches and splatter.
  18. Remove the heart mask and heat set the image panel.
  19. Place the image panel back onto the stamping platform.
  20. Use Emperor Red Elements Ink to stamp mini hearts above the chimney.
  21. Remove the mini hearts stamp.
  22. Position the sentiment from the Words from the Heart Clear Polymer Stamp Set facedown towards the top of the image panel.
  23. Press the platform's lid onto the stamp, lift it, then place low-tack tape to cover both hearts.
  24. Ink the sentiment with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, remove the tape, and stamp.
  25. Clean and dry the sentiment stamp.
  26. Use low-tack tape to cover the words of the sentiment.
  27. Ink the two hearts with Emperor Red Elements Ink, remove the tape, and stamp.
  28. Trim .125" off of the image panel and edge the panel with Emperor Red Elements Ink
  29. Cut a piece of black cardstock cut to 5.75" square and use it to mat the image panel.
  30. Create a 6" square card from white textured cardstock.
  31. Use Emperor Red Elements to ink a .5" perimeter around the cardstock.
  32. Adhere the card front to finish the card.
