"I Quit Drinking" -- a Miss Dee Card

I know that Tuesday is my normal day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps, but I was running late due to a doctor's appointment. Luckily, Cornelia, one of my lovely teammates switched with me. My doctor appointment made me want to drink heavily.

Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of green cardstock to 8.5" x 5.5", score at 4.25", and fold to form an A2 card. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the sofa and throw pillows from the Have A Seat Clear Stamp Set 461 and Miss Dee from the Boozer Dee Clear Stamp Set 702 onto Neenah cardstock.
  3. Fussy-cut all the elements.
  4. Color Miss Dee with Copic markers, then edge it with a black multi-liner pen.
  5. Accent Miss Dee's  earrings, stilettos, and jean studs with the Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust® Clear Glittering Ink by Sakura®
  6. Brush the couch from the Have A Seat Clear Stamp Set 461 Milled Lavendar Distress ink, then shade it with Copic markers.
  7. Put Dionysus from the Dionysus Clear Stamp Set 723 on a stamping block.
  8. Use Post-It Notes to cover his hand.
  9. Ink the grapes part of the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, remove the Post-It Note, and stamp one of the throw pillows from the Have A Seat Clear Stamp Set 461
  10. Repeat Steps #8 and #9 to stamp the second pillow.
  11. Brush both pillows with Old Paper Distress ink.
  12. Add shading to the pillows with Copic markers.
  13. Color the grapes with Copic markers.
  14. Use magnets to secure a 4.5" x 5.5" panel of white cardstock to the base of a stamping platform.
  15. Measure the width of the grapevine border stamp and write it down.
  16. Position the grapevine border stamp from the Dionysus Clear Stamp Set 723 by Janet Klein facedown on the background panel so that it's flush with the base of the stamping platform and ~ 4.5" from the left edge.
  17. Press the lid of the platform onto the back of the stamp, lift the lid, ink the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and stamp.
  18. Keeping the stamp in the same position, move the background panel X" to the right keeping the panel flush with the base of the platform. X = measurement from Step #15.
  19. Ink the stamp and stamp again.
  20. Repeat Steps #18 and #19 until the top border is complete.
  21. Color the grapes and grape leaves with Copic markers.
  22. Use magnets to secure the background panel to the STAY-tion.
  23. Cover the grapevine border with a piece of plastic.
  24. Cover the bottom part of the image panel with tape or a piece of plastic.
  25. Sponge or brush Sundance Elements Inks by Lavinia Stamps between the two masked areas.
  26. Realize that the yellow is too bright.
  27. Brush New Canvas Palette ink (white) over the yellow to knock it back.
  28. Use a pouncy tool to pounce Old Paper Distress ink overtop to knock it back a little more.
  29. Heat set the panel.

  39. Adhere the sofa to the background panel.
  40. Adhere Miss Dee as shown.
  41. Adhere the background panel to the reserved green card.
Notes:
  • The card photographed a bit oddly. The image panel is NOT curved at the top as it appears above.
  • In looking at the card, I should have made the card into a 5" x 7" card. That would have given more space to the grapevine border and made it look more like a wallpaper border as I had intended. Alas.
  • If I had made it into a 5" x 7" card, I could have used a speech bubble for the sentiment which would have been a bit more humorous. Alas, alack!
  • Also, if I had made it into a 5" x 7" card, I could have added more floor area so the sofa wouldn't appear to be floating. Alas! Alack! Alas!
Thanks for visiting today!
