Notes:
  • The background was previously painted with several colors of Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy. When making painted backgrounds, I always make a bunch of them since one never knows when one will fubar mess up a project beyond redemption.
  • I selected the words on the left panel because they described the Day of the Dead very well.
  • I tried using VersaFine Clair for the first try of step #34, but the ink smeared between impressions before I got a chance to heat set it. So I used a back-up panel to my back-up panel and went with Archival ink. I'm not thrilled, but it didn't smear horribly.
Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of green cardstock to 10" x 7", score at 5", and fold to form a 5" x 7" card. Set aside.
  2. Use Obsidian Almagam ink to stamp the the Sugar Skull from the Small Elements #2 Clear Stamp Set by That's Crafty! onto white cardstock
  3. Fussy-cut it, color with Copic markers, and edged with a black pen. Set aside.
  4. Use magnets to secure a white cardstock panel to the base of the stamping platform.
  5. Position the gentleman from the Steampunk Alchemist Clear Stamp Set by Olga Heldwein for AALL and Create facedown on white cardstock.
  6. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift the lid.

  13. Fussy-cut the top hat and the goggles from the Steampunk hat, color them, with Copic markers, and edged with a dark marker.
  14. Add several layers of Clear Glaze pen to the goggle lenses to add dimension and shine to them.
  15. Set aside the clothing and hat for now.
  16. Use VerdantGreen Oasis, and Summertime VersaFine Clair Inks to stamp he clock from the ATC Coins Set #6 by That's Crafty! onto a piece of the previously painted background paper then heat-set.

  43. Use the Gold Posca paint pen to paint the smallest cog.
  44. Adhere the cog to the gentleman's lapel to finish the card.
