Seashells and Summer

It's Tuesday which means it's my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week I've made mixed media card using Darkroom Door's Seashells Red Rubber Cling Stamp SetSeaside Word Block Red Rubber Cling Stamp, and the Seashells Film Strip Red Rubber Cling StampSea GlassCaramelVintage LaceVanilla, and Buff Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy were used to create the background.

Stamping Platform
Inkssentials™ Cut 'N' Dry™ Stamping Foam by Ranger Ink

Instructions:
1. Apply a few dots of each of the above Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints to a piece of Inkssentials Foam as shown below. 


2. Squish the paint side of the bedotted foam onto a craft mat to blend the colors, then apply to  mixed media cardstock as shown below. I happened to have two small pieces of mixed media cardstock, so I used those. 

3. Repeat until the cardstock is covered with paint as shown below.


4. Use magnets to secure one of the sheets of painted to paper to the base of a stamping platform.

5. Position the Seaside Word Block Cling Rubber stamp face down onto the background paper. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift the lid.

6. Ink the stamp with Arctic Mist Prism Ink and stamp.

7. Keep the the stamp and the the background panel in position on the platform's lid and base.

8. Clean and dry the stamp, ink it with Speckled Egg Distress Ink, and stamp again.

9. Repeat step #8, inking the stamp sparingly with Desert Sand Memento ink. Stamp again.

10. Heat set the stamped background, then remove from the Stamping Platform. 

11. Edge with Black Soot Distress ink.

12. Use magnets to secure a piece of white cardstock onto the platform.

13. Position the four shells and the starfish from the Seashells Red Rubber Cling Stamp Set facedown on the cardstock. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamps and lift the lid.

14. Ink the stamps with Speckled Egg Distress Ink and stamp. Clean and dry the stamps.

15. Keep the the stamp and the the background panel in position on the platform's lid and base.

16. Ink the stamps with Desert Sand Memento ink and stamp.

17. Remove the panel from the platform and fussy-cut the images.

18. Use Copic markers to color the images. Use a dark marker (not black) to edge the images.

19. Use Jet Black Archival Ink  to stamp the Seashells Film Strip Red Rubber Cling Stamp onto white cardstock. 

20. Trim the Seashell Filmstrip Border, then brush or sponge with the Distress ink listed above to cover the entire shebang.

21. Cut black cardstock to 4.625" x 6.625". Adhere the painted, stamped, and edged word block panel as shown. Adhere the Seashell Filmstrip Border as shown.

22. Adhere the fussy-cut, colored, and edged shells as shown

23. Cut a piece of blue cardstock to 4.75 x 6.75" and edge with Black Soot Distress ink. Use this piece to mat the image panel. (Steps #21 and #22)

24. Adhere the matted image panel to a 5" x 7" blue card.
