Happy New Year!

Hi there! I'm back with a another project for Topflight Stamps. This week the team is focusing on Katzelkraft's wonderful stamps and I've made a New Year's card with their Pensive CatDreamer Sentiments, and Holiday Quotes Unmounted Red Rubber Stamps.

Stamping Platforms

Instructions:
  1. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the Pensive Cat Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
  2. Clean the Pensive Cat Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp.
  3. Color the Pensive Cat with Copic markers. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to his eyes. 
  4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Pensive Cat and place him over his counterpart on the image panel.
  5. Brush Lost Shadow Distress ink over the masked Pensive Cat to add a background behind the cat. 
  6. Place the Ornate Stencil over the image panel. Brush Summer Sky Memento Ink, Speckled Egg Distress Ink, and Tattered Rose Distress Ink over the stencil to add a pattern to the background.
  7. Place the image panel back onto the stamping platform.
  8. Position the Pensive Cat Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp facedown on the bottom half of a piece of wood patterned paper from the Wood Textures 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad.
  9. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  10. Cover the cat part of the stamp with Post It Notes, use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to ink the cat's elbows and the line below him, remove the Post-It Note, and stamp onto the patterned paper.
  11. Fussy-cut along the line below him and around his elbows. Use a N5 Copic marker to edge the top of the patterned paper.
  12. Use Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink to stamp the "Dreamer" sentiment from the Dreamer Sentiments Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set onto the wood patterned paper. 
  13. Brush Lost Shadow, Speckled Ink, and Tattered Rose Distress Inks over a small piece of white cardstock. 
  14. Use a speech bubble border die to cut the cardstock on a diagonal so that there's a right angle on the top right edge of the bubble border die-cut.
  15. Use Summer Sky Memento Ink to to stamp the words "Joy" and "Peace" from the Seasonal Words Clear Polymer Stamp Set onto the thought bubble die-cut.
  16. Use Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink to stamp the "Happy New Year" sentiment stamps from the Holiday Quotes Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set onto the thought bubble border die-cut.
  17. Remove the mask covering the Pensive Cat Stamp on the image panel. 
  18. Adhere the thought bubble sentiment border die-cut to the upper right hand side of the image panel.
  19. Adhere the stamped wood patterned paper to the lower left hand side of the image panel. 
  20. Use an N5 marker to add a shadow below the Pensive Cat's elbows
  21. Trim the combined panel to 4.75" x 6.75",  edge with Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink, and adhere to a navy 5" x 7" card.

Go Away

Greetings! It's Gnome-Vember over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. I've created a snarky card with the Gnome Go Away Rubber Stamp by Lost Coast DesignsYou might think he's crude and rude. I think he's funny, sad about the end of daylight savings time, and needs some time to chill. Kind of Definitely like me.

Instructions:
  1. Create a 5" x 7" card from Raven (black) cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp  Gnome Go Away onto white cardstock.
  3. Fussy-cut the Gnome Go Away.
  4. Color him with Copic markers, edge him with a black marker, and set him aside. He'll be perfectly happy on his own and will use that time to meditate.
  5. Cut a panel of Bristol Paper with the Dreamy Manor Die Set 66.
  6. Use Pitt Artist Pens and the Silver Ingot Metallic marker to color the die-cut.
  7. Adhere patterned white vellum to the reverse of the Dreamy Manor die-cut to cover the windows.
  8. Smoosh Grass Green VersaFine Clair Ink onto white cardstock.
  9. Tear three times and edge the torn top of each strip with Oasis Green VersaFine Clair Ink.
  10. Use the gate die to cut white cardstock. 
  11. Color the gate die-cut with Silver Ingot Metallic marker.
  12. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 5" x 7" to create the background panel.
  13. Place the Cloud Stencil towards the top of the white cardstock and sponge London Fog, then Lulu Lavender Memento Ink over the top of the stencil onto the background panel.
  14. Rotate the stencil, move it downwards, and sponge London Fog and Lulu Lavender Memento Inks over the stencil onto the background panel.
  15. Repeat Step 12 until the panel is covered with ink and looks like a cloudy sky.
  16. Layer the three green strips of paper onto the bottom of the background panel.
  17. Adhere the Dreamy Manor Die-cut to the background panel.
  18. Adhere the silver fence die-cuts to the bottom of the background panel.
  19. Trim the background panel to 4.75" x 6.75". **
  20. Use foam adhesives to adhere the gnome over the fence and house die-cuts, taking care to cover the Memory-dex holes with the gnome. 
  21. Choose three sentiments from the Sharp Tongues 4 White Ephemera, color with the Light Indigo Pitt Artist Pen, and edge with a black marker.
  22. Adhere the sentiments to the top left, not as shown. Make them straight. Unlike mine. Which are crooked. Alas.
  23. Use a scissor blade to distress and tatter the edges of the background panel.
  24. Apply Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink to the tattered edges.
  25. Adhere the background panel to the reserved black 5" x 7" card.

  • When I trimmed the cardstock, my trimmer did not cut cleanly.  Hence I resorted to tattering/distressing the edges to camouflage the wonky cuts.

Nature Does Not Hurry -- An Encouragement Card

Although it’s still summer, people are beginning to think about autumn. Here’s a card created for Imagine with a Memento and VersaMagic inks a lovely stencil and a meaningful quote, meant to encourage a friend who had an accident is a bit patient for nature to take its course.

Instructions:

Step 1:

Use magnets and low-tack tape to secure a piece of mixed media cardstock to a magnetic page. Add a curvy piece of low-tack tape along the bottom as shown. Use a Sponge dauber to apply Danube Blue Memento Ink horizontally across the cardstock.







Step 2:

Use another Sponge Dauber to apply Summer Sky Memento ink horizontally across the cardstock, filling in open spaces.









Step 3:

Use another Sponge Dauber to add Angel Pink Memento Ink to add some warmth to the sky.










Step 4:

Place the other side of the curvy low-tack tape over the bottom part of the sky area. Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Bamboo Leaves Memento ink over the tape horizontally to begin to create a grassy area.








Step 5:

Tear a piece of cardstock and use the Sponge Dauber to continue applying Bamboo Leaves Memento ink. Use another Sponge Dauber to apply New Sprout Memento Ink to fill in the grassy area.








Step 6:

Use low-tack tape and magnets to secure the Tree Stencil over the sponged paper and the magnetic page. Place low-tack tape over the leaves around the tree trunk and branches. Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Jumbo Java VersaMagic over the stencil onto the paper. Remove the tape to reveal the tree’s leaves. Use a paper towel to wipe the brown ink off of the stencil.





Steps 7A, 7B, 7C, and 7D:

Use a Sponge Dauber to Apply Mango Madness VersaMagic Ink over some of the stencil’s leaves (7A). Use a dry paper towel to wipe the ink off the stencil. Use separate Sponge Daubers to apply Aloe Vera, Tea Leaves, Pink Grapefruit, Pumpkin Spice, Red Magic, and Perfect Plumeria VersaMagic Inks over the stencil’s leaves (7B, 7C). 7D shows the completed tree. Heat set.









Step 8:

Use magnets to secure the image panel onto the base of the a stamping platform. Place the sentiment facedown where desired. Press the platform’s lid onto the back of the stamp, lift the lid, ink the stamp with Shady Lane VersaFine Clair Ink, and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain a good impression. Remove the card front from the stamping platform. Heat set the sentiment.





Step 9:

Cut a piece of white textured cardstock to 10” x 7”. Score at 5” and fold to form a 5” x 7” card. Place a piece of scrap paper inside the card to protect it. Use a Sponge Dauber to apply Shady Lane VersaFine Clair around the outer .5” perimeter of the card. Heat set.







Step 10:

Use Tear It! Tape to adhere the card front to the inked 5” x 7” card.

Happy Birthday with Crealies!

Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of Raven cardstock to create a top folding A2 card. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the Panda from the Koala and Panda Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Craft Emotions twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  3. Use Copic markers to color the Panda. 
  4. Use the White Gelly Roll Gel pen to add a highlights to the cherry and the panda's eyes. Let the gel ink dry.
  5. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Panda and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  6. Place a ruler or a piece of plastic horizontally over the top part of the image panel with the bottom of the ruler slightly above the level of the panda's paws.
  7.  Brush or sponge Russet Orange, and Sundance Elements. Inks  over the ruler and the masked images onto the image panel.
  8. Move the ruler so that it's covering the bottom of the image. 
  9. Sponge or brush Mulberry and Violet Chalk Elements. Inks over the masked panda onto the top part of the image panel.
  10. Use a Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and mist the top portion of the image panel. 
  11. Trim the image panel, edge with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, and mat with black cardstock cut .25" larger than the panel.
  12. Use the plain die from the Happy Birthday with Shadow Wordzz Die Set to cut black cardstock. 
  13. Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Ink Drops - Candy 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad to 4" x 5.25" to create the background panel.. 
  14. Edge the patterned paper with edge with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.
  15. Adhere the patterned paper background panel to the reserved 4.25" by 5.5" card.
  16. Adhere the Happy Birthday sentiment die-cuts to the top of the card. 
  17. Adhere the image panel as shown. 
  18. Use the Quickie Glue Pinpoing Roller Pen by Sakura to adhere five sparkly sequins to finish the card..
