Happy Halloween!

This week the Topflight Stamps Design team is showcasing products by Lavinia Stamps. I've made another Halloween card, this time with the Sticker Stencil Set 6, Luka Cat Clear Polymer Stamp, the Wands and Spells Clear Polymer Stamp, the Corks Clear Polymer Stamp Set, and the Nightfall Sentiments Clear Polymer Stamp Set

I've always been fascinated with seeing objects enclosed in glass containers, so I had to try the Lavinia Stamps' Sticker Stencils, especially the ones that are bottles, flasks, or other containers. They are a lot of fun to use and yield great results.

Here's the card!

Notes:
  • The Lavinia Stamps' Sticker Stencils are clear sticker sheets that are mounted on clear thin acetate carriers.
  • Both the shaped stencil and the outside frame are included in each set.
  • Be sure to place the sticker stencils back onto the carriers to protect the stickiness!

Instructions:
  1. Create a 5" x 7" card from black cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Cut a piece of cardstock to fit the size of the full sticker stencil. I used Mixed Media cardstock.
  3. Place low-tack tape horizontally across the bottom part of the cardstock.
  4. Adhere the frame/outer part of one of the Sticker Stencil Set 6 (bottles) to the cardstock so that the bottom part of the bottle is below the tape.
  5. Place the Sticker Stencil covered cardstock onto the base of a stamping platform. Secure with magnets.
  6. Place the Wands and Spells Clear Polymer Stamp facedown in the center of the open window of the bottle stencil so that the bottom of the books is sitting on the tape.
  7. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp, lift, ink with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, and stamp twice — once into the center of the bottle on the image panel and again onto a piece of repositionable sticker paper. Remove the stamp from the platform.
  8. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Wands and Spells books and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  9. Position the Luka Cat Clear Polymer Stamp so he's sitting facedown atop the masked Wands and Spells book.
  10. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the cat stamp, lift, ink with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, and stamp.
  11. Remove the panel from the stamping platform and place onto a the STAY-tion.
  12. Brush Bermuda Elements Ink over the edges of the Sticker Stencil towards the center of the bottle.
  13. Brush Blue Atoll Elements Ink over the edges of the stencil and into the bottle, brushing more lightly in the center.
  14. Use magnets and low-tack tape to secure the panel to the STAY-tion.
  15. Tape one side of the Stones Stencil to the STAY-tion. Run a stylus along the edge of the tape to secure the stencil to the STAY-tion and create a hinge so that the stencil can be placed over the image panel or set to the side.
  16. Brush Lost Shadow Distress Ink over the Stones Stencil  onto the middle of the bottle area on the image panel.
  17. "Open" the stencil.
  18. Place the bottle part of the Sticker Stencil over the bottle top protect it.
  19. Both parts of the Sticker Stencil should be on the image panel.
  20. Remove the exterior part of the Sticker Stencil and place it on the acetate carrier.
  21. Brush Lost Shadow Distress ink over the bottle portion of the Sticker Stencil to cover the entire background of the panel.
  22. Flip the Stones Stencil so that it's covering the entire panel.
  23. Brush Lost Shadow Distress over the stencil to create a stone wall background.
  24. Lightly brush Graphite Elements Ink over the lighter grey inkto deepen the color of the stones.
  25. Remove the Stones Stencil.
  26. Remove the sticker stencil covering the bottle and place it back on the acetate carrier.
  27. Remove the low-tack tape covering the bottom of the panel.
  28. Place a piece of clear plastic where the tape was so that it's covering the top part of the image panel.
  29. Brush Gathered Twigs Distress Ink over the plastic to cover the bottom of the image panel.
  30. Remove the mask over the Wands and Spells book.
  31. Squeeze the HennaOliveRusset OrangeSahara, and Merlot Elements Inkpads  to add some ink to the inside of the covers.
  32. Pick up the ink on the inside of the inkpad with a wet paintbrush and paint the spell books. Be sure to dry the insides of inkpads' lids before covering them again. Moisture can damage your inkpads!
  33. Wet a clean paint brush and use it remove the ink and add a highlight to the bottle.
  34. Place the image panel back onto the stamping platform.
