Merry Christmas Gift Tag

This week my Topflight Stamps teammates and I are sharing gift tags, gift containers, or gift cards. I decided to combine two and created a large tag that holds cash, but could also hold a gift card!

Stamping Platforms

Notes:
  • When a clear stamp set comes with both a clear identifying index sheet and a plain one, I like to move all the stamps from the index sheet to the plain sheet so that I can use the index sheet to help position stamps.
Instructions:
  1. Place the index sheet with right-looking bird from the Birds 1 Clear Polymer Stamp Set towards the top of the image panel on a stamping platform.
  2. Position the Santa Hat stamp from the Hedgy 4 Clear Polymer Stamp Set so that it will sit on the bird's head.
  3. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the hat twice — once onto the image panel and once onto sticker paper.
  4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  5. Remove the Santa Hat stamp from the platform then thoroughly clean and dry it.
  6. Use the index sheet to position the bird so that its head is within the Santa Hat.
  7. Place the bird stamp over the index sheet, press the platform lid onto the back of the stamp, and lift.
  8. Stamp the bird twice — once onto the image panel and once onto sticker paper.
  9. Fussy-cut the sticker paper and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  10. Repeat Steps #3 - 10 with the second bird.
  11. Move the image panel to an open-sided stamping platform.
  12. Position the flag stamp from the Birds 1 Clear Polymer Stamp Set  facedown on the image panel below the birds' feet, press the platform lid onto the back of the stamp, and lift.
  13. Use Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the flag.
  14. Slide the image panel .75" to the right being sure to keep the base of the panel snug against the bottom of the platform.
  15. Use Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the flag.
  16. Repeat Steps 15 and 16 until you have a (relatively straight) row of flags on the image panel.
  17. Stamp the flag repeatedly onto repostionable sticker paper, fussy-cut the flags, and place them over their counterparts on the image panel.
  18. Move the image panel to a STAY-tion.

  19. Use a Premier Blending Tool and a Premier Blending Sponge to apply Tranquil ink over the masked image to create a pale blue background.
  20. Move the image panel back onto a stamping platform.
  21. Position the snowflakes from the Snowflakes Clear Polymer Stamp Set and the Winter Snowflakes Clear Polymer Stamp Set facedown on the image panel.
  22. Press the lid of the platform onto the back of the stamps, lift, and ink with Moonlight White Brilliance ink. Stamp.
  23. Ink the stamps a second time with White Shimmer Delicata ink and stamp.
  24. Remove the snowflake stamps, clean, and dry them thoroughly.

  27. Remove all the masks.

  29. Use a Green Essential Metallic Colorista Markers to color the top of the flags.
  30. Use a Gold Essential Metallic Colorista Markers to add the rope between the flags.
  31. Use a white Gelly Roll Gel pen to add white "snow" to the image panel.
  32. Use Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the flag several times onto a piece of plaid paper from the Tartan 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad.
  33. Fussy-cut the flags, edge them with a black marker, and place over their counterparts on the image panel.
  34. Trim the image panel, edge it with a gold leafing pen, and set it aside.
  35. The Tartan 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad has three sheets per plaid.
  36. Since the XXL Tag Die is longer than 6". cut two sheets of  the same plaid.
  37. Use the pocket die from the tag pocket die set to cut one of the plaid die-cuts from Step #36.
  38. Fold the pocket die along the score lines and use the gold leafing pen to edge the pocket.

  43. Use the gold leafing pen to edge the plaid tag.
  44. Using Blue Belle VersaFine Clair Ink stamp the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set and the "Just for you" sentiment from the More Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set onto white cardstock. Heat set both sentiments.
  45. Use the gold leafing pen to color a piece of white cardstock.
  46. Use the Sizzix nameplate die to cut the "Just for you" sentiment and the gold leafed white cardstock.
  47. Use the small rectangle die to cut the "Merry Christmas" sentiment and the Nameplate die to cut the gold leafed white cardstock.
  48. Adhere the sentiment die-cuts to their respective nameplates.
  49. Adhere the image panel to the plaid tag as shown.
  50. Adhere the "just for you" sentiment die-cut to the pocket as shown.
  51. Add a gold foil corner sticker to enhance the pocket.
  52. Adhere the "Merry Christmas" sentiment die-cut to the top of the tag.
  53. Add green Diamond Sparkles rhinestones to cover the holes on the nameplates.
  54. Use a small circle punch to add a hole to the top of the tag.
  55. Use a donut shaped die from the Tag Die Set to cut the gold leafed white cardstock.
  56. Add two small gold foil corner stickers to either side of the tag's hole.
  57. Adhere the donut-shaped die-cut to the top of the tag.
  58. Thread metallic floss and fancy fibers through the hole at the top of the tag to complete it!
