Orla the Owl Slimline Card

It's Tuesday, my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week my teammates and I are showcasing Hobby Art Ltd.'s fabulous products

I opted to create a slimline card with the fantastic Orla Owl Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Hobby Art Ltd. which is comprised of the Orla the Owl, the moon, stars, several pieces of foliage, a wooden fence post, and a barbed wire stamps.
Here's the card.

Notes:
  • As you can see Orla the owl is a very large stamp, so I opted to create a slimline card with her. Since she's so detailed, I kept the design clean and simple.
  • I haven't added a sentiment because I haven't decided who should receive the card and for what occasion.
Instructions:
  1. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp he owl from the Orla Owl Clear Polymer Stamp Set onto a piece of 8.5" x 4" white cardstock and onto label paper.
  2. Fussy-cut the label paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.
  3. Position the moon stamp facedown over the masked owl's head and shoulders.
  4. Ink the stamp with London Fog Memento ink and stamp it onto the image panel and stamped onto label paper
  5. Fussy-cut the label paper version and place it atop the moon on the image panel.
  6. Using the largest of the Black Blending Brushes, brush Blue Lagoon Elements Ink around the masked owl and moon onto the image panel. Continue to brush outwards from the stamped, masked elements until the ink is gone.
  7. Brush Dark Denim Elements Ink around the edges of the image panel towards the center, taking care to blend the blues where they overlap.
  8. Lift and retain the masks for another use.
  9. Use Copic markers to color Orla and the moon.
  10. Use a white gel pen was used to add catchlights to Orla's eyes.
  11. Trim the image panel to 3.75" and edge with Dark Denim Elements Ink.
  12. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 8.75" x 8", score at 4", and folded to form a card.
  13. Place a piece of scrap paper inside the card, then use a Blender to sponge Dark Denim Elements Inks around the periphery of the card, which will create a card that matches the image panel perfectly.
Thanks for visiting today!
