Note:
When I saw that January's challenge was Winged Things, I naturally had to create a card with some of my favorite birds. I love crows and ravens and magpies, which are all part of the Corvidae Family. Their plumage is usually majestic and they are really very intelligent birds. And when I think of crows and ravens, I think of Edgar Allen Poe.

I wanted to go greyscale with this card and am relatively pleased with the results.

Instructions:
  1. Stamp the Edgar Allen Poe Rubber Stamp with London Fog Memento Ink onto a panel of Bristol Paper.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp three of the crows from the Murder of Crows Rubber Stamp Set.
  3. Use Copic markers to color the images.
  4. Use a white Gel Pen to add the catchlights to Poe's eyes.
  5. Use a Black Glaze Gel Pen to add shiny eyes to the crows.
  6. Stamp all the images again onto repositionable sticker paper, fussy-cut them, and place the fussy-cut stickers  over their counterparts as masks.
  7. Place a Nestabilities square die facedown on the image panel and secure it with low-tack tape.
  8. Run the die and image panel through the machine.
  9. Flip the sandwich  onto a work surface so the reverse is facing upwards.
  10. Use low-tack tape to secure the die-cut image panel to the rest of the panel.
  11. Flip the die-cut/image panel again so that it's right-side up with the image panel still inside the die.
  12. Brush Lost Shadow Distress Ink over the die onto the masked image panel die-cut.
  13. Place the Time Tunnel Stencil over the image panel/die combo, hold in place, and sponge Lost Shadow Distress Ink over the die and the stencil to add a subtle background to the image panel.
  14. Remove the tape from the front and the back of the die-cut image panel revealing a white-ish edge.
  15. Clean both the die and the stencil.
  16. Remove the masks to reveal the colored scene.
  17. Use Copic markers to ground the two crows flanking Poe.
  18. Cut black textured cardstock with the next largest square die and use the black die-cut to mat the image panel.
  19. Adhere the matted image panel to a white 6" square card.
  20. Add sentiment stickers to finish the card.
