Time Flies!

It's Tuesday which is my day to share a card created for Topflight Stamps. I love all things Steampunk so I was totally thrilled when Lavinia Stamps came out with a collection of Steampunk themed stamps. 

Here's my first card using these fabulous new stamps.

Stamping Platform

Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of purple cardstock to 10" x 7". Score at 5" and fold to form a 5" x 7" card. Set aside.
  2. Use a stamping platform and Tuxedo Black Memento ink, stamp the Topper Clear Polymer Stamp onto a white cardstock panel and onto repositionable label paper.
  3. Fussy-cut the label paper version and place the mask over the hat on the image panel.
  4. Position the Zia Clear Polymer Stamp  under the hat, ink the stamp with Memento ink, and stamp onto the image panel and onto repositionable label paper.
  5. Once again, fussy-cut the label paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  6. Brush Mermaid, then Bermuda Elements Inks s over the masked images.
  7. Keeping the images masked, the stamp the Steampunk Script Clear Polymer Stamp with Mermaid Elements Ink on the lower left corner of the image panel.
  8. Clean and dry the stamp then reposition the stamp facedown on the image panel above the stamped verse on the top left. 
  9. Ink the stamp with Mermaid Elements Ink and stamp.
  10. Repeat Steps 8 and 9 on the lower right, then again on the top right.
  11. Lift the masks and the color the image with Copic markers. 
  12. Trim the image panel and edge with Mermaid and Bermuda Elements Inks.
  13. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4.75" x 6.75" to create a background panel.
  14. Brush the white cardstock with Mermaid Elements Ink
  15. Use a stamping platform and  Mermaid Elements Ink to stamp the clocks and cogs from the Clock Set 1 Clear Polymer Stamp SetCogs Set 2 Clear Polymer Stamp Set, and Cogs Set 3 Clear Polymer Stamp Set. *
  16. Brush a scrap of white cardstock with Mermaid Elements Ink
  17. Use Mermaid Elements Ink to stamp the Time Flies sentiment from the Time Flies Clear Polymer Stamp Set.
  18. Cut the sentiment with a nameplate die. 
  19. Edge both the background panel and the sentiment die-cut with Mermaid Elements Ink.
  20. Cut a piece of purple cardstock .25" larger than the image panel and use to mat it.
  21. Adhere the matted image panel to the background panel. 
  22. Adhere the sentiment die-cut to the background panel. 
  23. Use glue to adhere tiny brass gears to the sentiment die-cut.
  24. Use a pokey tool to add holes to the background panel in the center of the tiny gears.
  25. Add screw-top brads to the center of each gear.
  26. Adhere the cardfront to the reserved purple 5" x 7" card.
Notes:
  • The clock and cog stamps were positioned a few at a time facedown on the background panel. They were then inked, stamped, cleaned, dried, and repositioned until the panel was stamped to my liking.
