It's Tuesday which means it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week my teammates and I are showcasing wonderful products by Carabelle Studios. I decided to make a mixed media card starring the fabulously funky The 80s Lemur, which I had to have. After all, how could I resist a super-cool lemur tuning out the world whilst listening to music piped into his headphones courtesy of his cassette player?
Here's the card!

Instructions:
- Cut green cardstock to 10" x 7". Score at 5", and fold to form a 5" x 7" card. Set aside.
- Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the 80s Lemur by Carabelle Studios onto white cardstock and Repositionable Label paper.
- Fussy-cut the label paper version and place it over the lemur on the image panel as a mask.
- Use magnets to secure the image panel onto the STAY-tion.
- Place a clear ruler horizontally over the bottom half of the image.
- Brush or sponge Jersey Cream Prism Ink over the ruler and the masked image to add color to the white background.
- Use magnets to secure the Time Tunnel Stencil by Visible Image over the image panel
- Brush or sponge the lightest color from the Yellow Ombre Ink Pad over the stencil onto the background to add a trippy element.
- Reposition the ruler over the top part of the image panel and sponge Sage Distress inkover the ruler onto the base of the image to ground the Lemur.
- Lift and retain the mask.
- Color the image with Copic markers.
- Use a stamping platform and Onyx Black VersaFine Ink to stamp the sentiment from the Music On/World Off Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Visible Image on the top of the image panel. Heat set.
- Use Black Soot Distress ink to edge the image panel.
- Sadly, I got a fingerprint on the background, big bummer!*
- Improvise to fix the mistake by randomly stamping the grunge splash stamp from the Music On/World Off Stamp Set to add a grungy border. It almost looks intentional!
- The image panel was set aside for a bit.
- Add a spot of Vanilla Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint to your craft mat, mist lightly with water.
- Use a brayer to apply the paint over a piece of music patterned cardstock.
- Repeat Step #16 with Sage then Autumn Fire Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint until the patterned paper is covered,
- If your paint isn't blended to your liking and/or the music notes are a bit obscured, misted the painted patterned cardstock with water, then used paper towel to remove the excess paint. Heat set the panel.
- Trim the background panel to 4.75" x 6.75" and edged with Distress ink.
- Use Sage Distress ink to stamp the Mystic Swirl Clear Polymer Stampon the top left and bottom right corners. Heat set the ink.
- Adhere the background panel to the reserved 5" x 7" card.
- Adhere the image panel as shown.
Notes:
- If you have patterned cardstock that either does not float your boat anymore or is perfect for a project but has the wrong color scheme, Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy can work wonders.
- Fingerprints and ink smudges happen. Don't despair! Use a patterned stamp to camouflage the mistake.
