Let the Good Times Roll!

Happy Mardi Gras! It's my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. In honor of the holiday, I decided to create a slimline card featuring a Drinks Cart Parade using the Happy Hour Clear Stamp Set 476 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create

Stamping Platform

Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of black cardstock to 9.25" x 8". Score at 4" and fold to form a slimline card. Set aside.
  2. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 8.5" x 4".
  3. Use magnets to secure the cardstock to the base of a stamping platform positioned all the way to the left and flush with the bottom of the platform.
  4. Position the drinks stamp facedown on the image panel so that the right edge of the stamp is at the 8.5" mark.
  5. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  6. Ink the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp if necessary for a good impression.
  7. Keeping the stamp in the same position, slide the paper ~1.75" to the right being sure to keep the paper against the bottom base of the platform.
  8. Reposition the magnets to ensure that the image panel does not move.
  9. Re-ink the stamp and stamp. Repeat if necessary.
  10. Repeat Steps 7 - 9 three more times until you have a row of drink carts!*
  11. Add a strip of Wishy-Washi Washi Tape 19 by Janet Klein to the base of the image under the carts' wheels.
  12. Use one of the dies from the No Frills Plain Slimline dies to cut the image panel then edge it  with Midnight Black Prism Ink.
  13. Use E30, E31, and BG72 Copic markers to add the background behind the drinks carts.
  14. Use BV20 to add shadows around the images.
  15. The background still needed a little something, so I used Butterscotch Prism Ink to repeatedly stamp one of the background stamps from the Voyager Clear Stamp Set 198 by Olga Heldwein for AALL and Create along the top.
  16. Computer generate and print the sentiment onto beige vellum.
  17. Use a banner die to cut the sentiment.
  18. Fold the sentiment and adhere to the image panel.
  19. Use the largest die from the Stitched Slimline Die Set to cut violet patterned paper to become the card front.
  20. Cut a piece of harlequin patterned paper (Venetian Carnevale) from the Midnight Masquerade 8x8 pad to 3.5", then cut into three pieces.
  21. Use Midnight Black Prism Ink to edge the card front and all three pieces of the harlequin patterned paper.
  22. Adhere the three pieces of harlequin patterned paper to the card front.
  23. Adhere the image panel die-cut to card front as shown.
  24. Adhere the card front to the reserved slimline card.
Thanks for visiting today!

Notes:
  • Having a nice orderly row of drink carts makes my inner Virgo chortle with glee. Chortling is a good thing.
  • Retrospectively, I should have colored all the bottles differently so that there would be a wider variety of drink choices. Clearly my inner Virgo was in control of the coloring process.
  • Having a parade of drink carts makes me happy especially since I'm finally finished with all those antibiotics and am beginning to feel more normal or what passes for normal with me.
