New Year's Resolution journal page

Claudine is the challenge hostess this week at Stampotique Designers Challenge blog. Her challenge theme is "New Year's Resolutions". Here's what she's got to say about her challenge!
"Most of us always create a new year's resolution at the beginning of the new year. For 2015 try your hand at making something with your new year's resolution in mind."
If you'd like the chance to win your choice of $30 worth of Stampotique stamps, you should play along with this challenge. Visit Stampotique Designers Challenge blog and be sure to read the rules so that you'll have the chance to win that great prize!!!

Here's my journal page with Stampotique's Dance (Linda Peterson).

Dance (first time inked!) was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored with Copic markers, and fussy-cut. Dance was stamped again onto a scrap of patterned paper and the dress was shaded with Copic markers, then fussy-cut, and pieced in place. Dance was put aside while I created the background for her.

I've been doing a lot of painty backgrounds and my Distress inks were feeling lonely, so I pulled them out to use for the background! I pulled a  blank page from my journal, taped off the spiral binding, found the page's center, and taped that too. Tumbled China Distress ink was sponged over the left hand side of the page, heat set, then sponged again over the Positive Times Two stencil by Green Peppper Press.

The center tape was lifted, repositioned, then Chipped Sapphire Distress ink was sponged over the right side of the page, heat set, and sponged again over the Raindrops stencil by Prima.

The tape was lifted off the binding and repositioned. Black Soot Distress ink was sponged over the spirals.

Green cardstock was torn and adhered to the base of the page. White cardstock was die-cut using ancient Roxy Mini font dies by QuicKutz to spell out "Balance". The letters were sponged with either Tumbled China or Chipped Sapphire Distress inks and adhered to the page atop the green cardstock. The entire page was edged with Black Soot Distress ink, then Dance was adhered to the page.

A lot of people choose one word at the beginning of a new year, based on Ali Edward's One Little Word® challenge. Being me, I've selected several words.  Balance is one of my words for 2015 and I've interpreted it on this page as a balance between light/positive and dark/rain, though it also means several other things to me. I likely will create another few pages for the other words I've chosen for the year. I don't know whether I will share them or not...

Anyway, thanks for visiting today!

I shall enter this page in the following challenges:
