I was determined to get this card finished in time for Stampotique Designer's Challenge #98: Pink & Turquoise. Alas, my sinuses were determined to derail that goal.
So once again, I'm a day late. But it's cool because I like this card and I really like the color scheme.
Stampotique's Octopet is the star of the show. She was stamped with Memento ink onto white Neenah cardstock as were the cute fishies from the late lamented justjohanna/odd bird planet. They were all colored with Copic markers (RV52, RV55, RV66), then coated with a layer of VersaMarker and heat embossed with two layers of clear embossing powder.
Neptune Ancient Page ink was sponged over the octopus and the fish to create a base sea tone. Peacock Feathers Distress ink was sponged over the Fish Scales stencil by The Crafter's Workshop and Stream Adirondack ink was sponged over the Tiny Circles stencil. When I was done, I used a q-tip to clean the ink off of the shiny fish and octopus, then repeatedly stamped the seaweeds from Bombshell Stamps' Mermaid Treasure set. The air bubbles were all accented with the Clear Gelly Roll Glaze pen and the edges of the stamped piece were sponged with Black Soot Distress Ink.
Black/pink Black Magic paper from Core'dinations took a ride through the Big Kick in the gorgeous Art Nouveau Waterfall embossing folder by Couture Creations. This piece was sanded to reveal the pink color core. I accented the pink bits here and there with the same Copic markers I used to color the images. The edges of this panel were distressed and rolled back a bit.
I stamped the sentiment, from Bombshell Stamps' Homeward Bound set, kept it in the die,, and sponged Peacock Feathers Distress ink over it. When released, I mounted it onto a die cut from Spellbinders, adhered it to the card, and accented it with turquoise jewels.
Thanks for visiting today!
