Winter is Magic

It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday! This week's theme is "Anything Goes". It's been a really cold snowy winter and there's no end in sight, so I created a wintry-themed card with the Kate Crane 007 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set by PaperArtsy, the Winter Is Magic Clear Stamp Set 1191 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create, the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies, the Acetate Hills Masks/StencilsSnowflakes 8x8 Stencil, and Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps.

Here it is!

Here's a close-up that shows the sparkly and stenciled details.

Instructions:
  1. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the fairy and the snowman from the Kate Crane 007 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set by PaperArtsy twice — once onto a panel of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  2. Use Copic markers to color both images.
  3. Use <B41 and C0 Copic markers to outline both images.
  4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper versions and place them over their counterparts as masks.
  5. Use the second largest die from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut the image panel.
  6. Place the image panel die-cut onto a magnetic surface.
  7. Place the flattest hills mask from the Acetate Hills Masks/Stencils across the bottom part image panel die-cut so that the mask's top edge is across the bottom part of the masked snowman.  Secure the mask with magnets.
  8. Brush Della Blue Elements Ink over the Acetate Hills Mask and the masked snowman onto the image panel die-cut to add a background color to the top part.
  9. Remove the Acetate Hills Mask and clean it.
  10. Lightly mist the inked portion of the image panel die-cutwith water to add some white splatters and splotches to the background panel die-cut. Heat set the image panel.
  11. Trace the top of Acetate Hills Mask onto a piece of acetate or a piece of scrap paper.
  12. Cut along the trace line to create a negative of the mask.
  13. Place the cut acetate or paper so that it's sitting on the top of the hill and covering the top section of the image panel die-cut.
  14. Sponge Moonlight White Brilliance Ink over the mask onto the bottom part of the image panel die-cut, then heat set the ink.
  15. Remove the mask.
  16. Place the Snowflakes 8x8 Stencil over the image panel die-cut and secure it with magnets.
  17. Brush New Canvas Palette Ink over the stencil onto the image panel die-cut.
  18. Brush White Shimmer Delicata Ink over the Snowflakes 8x8 Stencil onto the image panel die-cut.
  19. Remove the stencil and heat-set the image panel die-cut.
  20. Remove the masks from the fairy and snowman.
  21. Add Stardust Clear Glittering Gel Ink Pen onto the fairy's wings, crown, and the star on her mask, then use a Copic blending marker to spread the glitter over them. When done, clean the markers nib onto a piece of tissue.
  22. Use the Stardust Clear Glittering Gel Ink Pen by Sakura to add lines extending from the bottom of the fairy and from the star on her wand. Also use it to add dot details to the snowman and to the top of the snowy hill.
  23. Use magnets or low-tack tape to secure the image panel die-cut onto the base of a stamping platform.
  24. Place the "winter is magic" sentiment stamp from the Winter Is Magic Clear Stamp Set 1191 facedown on the image panel as shown.
  25. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  26. Ink the stamp with VersaMark Ink and stamp.
  27. Ink the stamp a second time with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp.
  28. Sprinkle clear detail embossing powder onto the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into its container, and melt the powder with an embossing tool.
  29. Cut a piece of black cardstock so that it's .25" larger than the image panel die-cut and use it as a mask.
  30. Adhere the matted image panel to a white card.
