Happy Bird Day!

Greetings! It's Tuesday which means it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. This week the TFS team is showcasing PaperArtsy's wonderful mini stamps and mini stencils. They might be small, but they pack a big punch! I have quite a nice collection of these little treasures that I had a hard time deciding what to use. In the end, I decided to make a birthday card as those are always useful.

Instructions:
  1. Create an A2 card from grey cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Using a stamping platform and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp the Royal Bird (Kate Crane Mini Cling Stamp KCM004) twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  3. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  4. Position the cupcake stamp (Zinski Mini Rubber Clling Mounted Stamp Zini25) slightly to the right of the royal bird so that the top layer would be close to his beak. He might be feeling peckish!
  5. Stamp the cupcake twice with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink  — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  6. Fussy-cut the sticker paper cupcake and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
  7. Position the chef bird (Zinski Mini Rubber Cling Stamp Zini27) to the right of the cupcake and a little off kilter so that his toque is positioned behind the cupcake.
  8. Stamp the Chef Bird twice with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
  9. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of Chef Bird and use to mask the chef on the image panel.
  10. Move the image panel to the STAY-tion and secure with magnets and/or low-tack tape.
  11. Place a ruler horizontally over the base of the image panel.
  12. Sponge Angel Pink Memento Ink over the ruler and the masked images to color the background.
  13. Starting on the left side of the image panel, sponge or brush Bahama Blue, Summer Sky, Rose Bud, Dandelion, Tangelo, Lulu Lavender, Liliac Posies Memento Inks one ant a time over the shaped apertures of the Hot Picks Mini Stencil PM021 and over the masked images. Use Post-It Notes to protect the newly colored shapes.
  14. Continue until there's a nice rainbow of cool shapes on the background.
  15. Move the ruler to cover and protect the top part of the image panel.
  16. Sponge London Fog Memento Ink over the bottom of the stencil and the bases of the masked images to ground them.
  17. Place two Post-It Notes on a slant under each of the images and sponge London Fog Memento Ink between the notes to create shadows.
  18. Remove the ruler ,masks, and Post-It Notes.
  19. Color the images with Copic markers.
  20. Use a white Gel pen to add highlights to the cherries, the beak, and the bird's eyes.
  21. Place the image panel back onto a stamping platform.
  22. Position the sentiment stamp from the Birds 1 Clear Stamp Set on the upper right of the image panel.
  23. Ink the sentiment stamp with Blue Belle VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if necessary to attain a good impression.
  24. Heat set the sentiment.
  25. Adhere the image panel to the reserved grey card.
