Instructions:
  1. Cut blue cardstock to create an A6 card. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the girl from the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 with Copic-friendly black ink onto white cardstock and fussy-cut.
  3. Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the girl's coat onto one of the pink plaid patterned papers from the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad and fussy-cut it.
  4. Color the girl and her coat with Copic markers.
  5.  Edge both the girl and the coat with a black pen.
  6. Use white gel pen  to add white highlights to her eyes, the buttons, and her boots. Let dry.
  7. Add several coats of clear glossy glaze pen to add to dimension and shine to her boots and buttons.
  8. Adhere the detailed fussy-cut coat in place, then set the girl aside.
  9. Die-cut a panel of white cardstock with a plain rectangle die from the Card Passe Partout Rectangle Die Set.
  10. Smoosh Della Blue Elements Ink onto a craft mat,  mist with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol until the the ink reacts.*
  11. Dip the white rectangle die-cut into the inky puddle. Repeat until the panel is covered with ink to your liking.
  12. Mist the panel again with the alcohol to saturate the paper and fully blend the ink. You can use your fingers to move the ink around a bit if needed. You can also add Purell to move the ink around if you'd like.
  13. Heat set to make sure the panel is dry on both sides.
  14. Since the alcohol forces the ink into the paper, both sides of the paper will likely be colored with ink. Take a look at the reverse of the die-cut and decide which side you prefer.*
  15. Tear a piece of paper tape and place across the bottom of the die-cut background.
  16. Secure the panel onto the base of a stamping platform.
  17. Use White Shimmer Delicata ink and the Snowflakes Background Stamp to add snowflakes to the background panel.
  18. Use a white gel pen to trace the top of the tape strip, then remove the tape.
  19. Sponge White Shimmer Delicata ink to the area below the gel pen.
  20. Detail the white area with a white gel pen, a white paint pen, and the Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glitter pen.
  21. Edge the panel with White Shimmer Delicata ink and heat set.
  22. Adhere the reserved girl to the background panel.
  23. Mat the background panel with blue cardstock slightly larger than the panel.
  24. Secure a scrap of white cardstock to the stamping platform.
  25. Position the "Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment from the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 face-down on the cardstock.
  26. Press the platform lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  27. Ink the sentiment stamp with Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp.
  28. Remove the sentiment stamp.
  29. Place the snowflake stamp from the same stamp set face-down in the center of the sentiment.
  30. Press the platform lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
  31. Ink the snowflake stamp with Della Blue Elements Ink and stamp the snowflake over the sentiment.
  32. Use a speech bubble die to cut the sentiment combo. Set aside.
  33. Use the largest scalloped rectangle die from the Card Passe Partout Rectangle Die Set to cut the same pink plaid paper used for the girl's coat.
  34. Use largest plain rectangle die from the set to cut white textured cardstock.
  35. Adhere the plain white rectangle onto the reserved blue card.
  36. Adhere the scalloped pink plaid die-cut onto the white rectangle.
  37. Adhere the image panel onto the scalloped pink patterned paper die-cut.
  38. Adhere the speech bubble to finish the card.
Notes:
  • I'm still experimenting with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol (and/or Purell) and ink and will continue to share my results. I should probably take step-out photos to share my results.
  • After saturating plain cardstock with Della Blue Elements (dye) ink + alcohol + Purell, I was pleasantly surprised that the combination resulted in two different shades of blue on either side of the paper.
  • Again, there was no pilling or rippling of the cardstock, even after being saturated.
  • Once again, Isopropyl Alcohol is a solvent. Be sure to work in a well ventilated area for safety sake.
Thanks for visiting today!
