Be Safe Card

It's Tuesday, so it's time to share a project created for Topflight Stamps! This card was prompted by the current situation, Darkroom Door's Glass Dome/Bell Jar Frame Red Rubber Cling Stamp, and all of the Lavinia stamps

Additionally, back when I was in college (during the dark ages), I took a drawing class. One of our assignments was to create a drawing of a glass container with something in it. I ended up doing a series of drawings based on that assignment. So, when I saw the Glass Dome/Bell Jar, I knew that I *needed* it to use with my stamps.

Here's the card with a scene created with Lavinia StampsFairy Shops 2 and Fir Tree Clear Polymer Stamps under Darkroom Door's Glass Dome/Bell Jar Frame Red Rubber Cling Stamp.

Instructions:
I decided that I should actually take photos during the process for the visual learners (like me).

1. I realized that the Fairy Shops 2 was going to be too wide to fit under the Glass Dome/Bell Jar, so I used a Post-It Note to cover the shop on the right.

2. The stamp was inked with Memento ink.

3. The Post-It Note was removed and the image onto white metallic cardstock and onto mask paper.

4. The mask image was fussy-cut, then placed over the image. The image panel was secured to my STAY-tion with magnets and a stamp positioner was used to stamp the Glass Dome/Bell Jar over the Fairy Shops

5. The Glass Dome scene was fussy-cut and edged with a dark marker.

6. The Glass Dome/ Bell Jar was stamped a second time onto a scrap of the mask paper, fussy-cut, and placed over its counterpart.

7. With the masks in place, the sky area was sponged with Periwinkle Prism ink. The Fir Tree was stamped over the masks onto the scene using Rainforest Prism ink.

8. The masks were lifted and the image was colored. After #Step 10, I realized that I should have touched up the right side of the house, but it was too late. Oops. Bad me.

9. A white paint marker was used to add a reflection to the "glass" area of the dome and allowed to dry.

10. A VersaMarker was used to color the glass part of the Glass Dome, so that clear embossing powder could be heat set. This step was repeated several times to build a clear gloss on the dome.

11. Greyish cardstock was used to create an A2 card. A strip of the same cardstock was cut to 1" x 6" and edged with Black Soot Distress Ink.

12. The strip of cardstock was adhered to a wood-grained piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 pad, trimmed to 4" x 5.25", edged with Black Soot Distress ink, then adhered to the grey card.

13. The Dome was placed as desired and a Sketch and Wash pencil was used to trace it. The Dome was removed and a wet paintbrush was used to create a shadow on the patterned paper and grey cardstock.

14. The Dome was adhered atop its shadow.

15. The sentiment stickers were edged with Black Soot Distress ink and adhered as shown to finish the card.
