The Purrfect Crime

It's Tuesday which means it's my day to share a project created for Topflight Stamps. It's an "Anything Goes" week for the TFS team, so I've decided to make a scene with the Cat Detective Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp by Katzelkraft and the Brick Wall Background Red Rubber Cling Stamp by Darkroom Door.

Here it is!

Instructions:
  1. Create an A2 card from Raven Cardstock. Set aside.
  2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the Cat Detective Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp by Katzelkraft onto white cardstock.
  3. Fussy-cut the cat, color with Copic markers, and edge with a black pen. Set aside.
  4. Use low-tack tape to cover the bottom third of a panel of mixed media paper.
  5. Brush or sponge Paprika and Russet Orange Elements Inks over the tape to cover the top portion of the background panel.
  6. Mist with water then realize that the water brightened the panel too much.
  7. Add some Snowflake Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint to a craft mat, mist with water, and use a piece of foam to apply the dilute white paint overtop to knock back the brightness. Heat set.
  8. Use Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink to stamp the  Brick Wall Background Red Rubber Cling Stamp by Darkroom Door. Heat set.
  9. Lift the tape and reposition it to cover the top part of the background panel.
  10. Heavily sponge Graphite Elements Ink and Grey Flannel Memento Ink directly below the brick. Sponge the inks more lightly as you near the bottom of the panel.
  11. Sponge Wheat VersaMagic Ink over the Graphite Elements Ink to create a cement sidewalk.
  12. Use the black Aquarelleable Stabilo Pencil to delineate the brick from the sidewalk.
  13. Use a black chalk pencil to add lines and shading to the sidewalk.
  14. Place the fussy-cut Cat Detective onto the background panel and carefully trace around him. Set him aside.
  15. Use the black chalk pencil to create a shadow for the Cat Detective and to add shading to the bricks. Rub the chalk into the paper.
  16. Trim the background panel to 4" x 5.25" and edge with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Inks by Imagine
  17. Adhere the Cat Detective to the background panel.
  18. Use the Aquarelleable Stabilo Pencil to deepen the shadows around the cat.
  19. Use VersaMark Ink to stamp the sentiments from the Cat Detective Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp by Katzelkraft onto black cardstock.
  20. Add white detail embossing powder, dump the excess, heat set, then cut with flag cutting dies.
  21. Adhere the image panel to the reserved black A2 card and adhere the sentiment strips to finish the card.
