Meet Pearl Princess!

Here's Pearl Princess, one of the stamps in the New Reflections Set 1, by Carmen Medlin Designs, available at I Brake for Stamps.

Pearl Princess was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts and colored with Copic markers. Clear Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura) was used to add dimension and shine to the water bubbles around her.

Green cardstock was die-cut with two Petite Ovals Nestabilties dies (Spellbinders) to create a frame to go around  Pearl Princess. The same cardstock was die-cut with one of the dies from the Chains die set (Elizabeth Craft Designs) and also used to create a 5"x7" card.

The patterned paper is from the Voyage Beneath the Sea 8x8 pad (Graphic 45) and was edged with Stormy Sky Distress ink (Ranger).

Three Blush Pearls (KaiserCraft) were used to finish the card.

Favorite Stamp Challenge!

The theme of this week's Stampotique Designer's Challenges (#265) is "Favorite". Use your favorite stamp to create a project, then share it with us!

If you'd like the chance to win your choice of $30 worth of Stampotique stamps, you should play along with this challenge. Visit Stampotique Designers Challenge blog and be sure to read the rules so that you'll have the chance to win that great prize!!! Remember to check to see the deadline for all of this month's Stampotique Designers Challenges!

Here's my card with Nerd Cat (Kira Nichols), who is one of my favorite Stampotique Stamps. This card will hold a matching ATC for the Stampotique Facebook group ATC swap.

Nerd Cat is one of my favorite Stampotique stamps because he's ever so versatile. With his bowtie and pocket protector, he can be any kind of nerd, like a chemist, an engineer, an accountant, or a professor. Plus, he's a cat!

Nerd Cat was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, then edged with a black marker. Nerd Cat's eyeglasses, pens, and buttons were coated with several layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura) to make them shiny and dimensional. He was set aside while I created the rest of his card.

A piece of the same patterned paper used for the ATC was cut and piece of wood-patterned washi tape was added to the base of it. I riffed off of my ATC and used the negative space of the Chemistry die set (Die-namics) to trace beakers, flasks, a test-tube holder thingy, and a test tube onto patterned paper.

I used Jet Black Archival ink (Ranger) to stamp the sentiment from the Barcode Text (France Papillon).  I then colored them all the flasks, beakers, and such with Copic markers, added some matching glitter pen dots, and then coated all the flasks and such with several layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen to make 'em glassy-looking.

A piece of blue cardstock was die-cut with one of the dies from the A2 Card Creator set (Spellbinders) to create a frame, which was adhered over the stamped scene, then onto a white A2 card. Nerd Cat was adhered to finish the card.

I shall enter this card into the following challenges:

Twofer = Favorite Stampotique Stamp Challenge Plus Anything Goes ATC Challenge

The theme of this week's Stampotique Designer's Challenges (#265) is "Favorite".

Here's my ATC with Nerd Cat (Kira Nichols), who is one of my favorite Stampotique Stamps.

I love Nerd Cat because he can be a chemist (like my husband), an engineer, an accountant, or a professor. And of course, he's a cat and I love cats.

Nerd Cat was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, then edged with a black marker. Nerd Cat's eyeglasses, pens, and buttons were coated with several layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen to make them shiny and dimensional.

I die-cut clear acetate with the Chemistry die set (Die-namics), and got the background all set up. Then I decided that the acetate needed to be traced to make the beakers and flasks stand out more and my pen slipped, so I went with Plan B.

A piece of patterned paper was cut to 2.25" x 3.25". A piece of wood-patterned washi tape was added to the base of the card front. I used the negative space of the die-cut to trace some beakers and flasks onto the patterned paper. The beakers and flasks were colored with Copic markers, then coated them with several layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen to make them shiny and dimensional.

Nerd Cat was adhered to the ATC front, which was mounted onto a grey cardstock ATC.

Thanks for visiting today!

I shall enter this ATC into the following challenges:

Bad Gnome Pun! -- Snow Place LIke Gnome!

I decided it was time for another bad gnome pun. My card features the Sweeping Gnome from the Gnome Sheet (I Brake for Stamps). The Sweeping Gnome is one of NINE (9) gnomes and a mess of mushrooms on that sheet. It's a Gnoteworthy bargain indeed.

The Sweeping Gnome was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black marker. He was set aside while I created a snowy gnome home for him.

Red cardstock was die-cut with a dutch door die. Blue shimmery cardstock was inlaid into the window portion of the door. White cardstock was die-cut twice with the urn die from the same set and colored with Copic markers. Green cardstock was punched with an ancient evergreen tree punch.

Hickory Smoke Distress ink was smooshed onto one side of the Alterations Brick Texture Fade (Sizzix). Grey cardstock was carefully placed into the embossing folder and run through my Big Kick (Sizzix). The door was adhered to the textured brick cardstock and then to a grey A2 card.

The evergreen trees were adhered to the urns and Prisma Glitter (DecoArt) was added to the trees, the urns, and the step. The Sweeping Gnome was adhered to the card. More glitter was added to his broom to make it look as though he's sweeping the snow away from his doorway.

Green Dymo Tape (Esselte) was run through my Dymo Label Maker to create the sentiment, which was then added to the card.

Find Your Magic!

Here's a card with The Queen, one of the fabulous Rick St. Dennis rubber stamps available at I Brake for Stamps.

The Queen was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), colored with Copic markers. Clear Stardust Glitter pen (Sakura) was added around her fingers and her wand.

Patterned paper was selected from a bunch of old 6x6 pads to match her outfit. The white paper edges were sponged with Black Soot and Scattered Straw Distress ink (Ranger).

Stickers from the Occasions Small Talk pad and the Big Chat pad(Idea-ology) were used to add the sentiment to finish the card.

Procrastination leads to an "I'm Late!" card!

I needed to send a document to someone and wanted to send a card along with it. However, as a peerless procrastinator, I didn't get around to making the card. It soon became clear to me that I should use my Hare in a Hurry stamp (Stampendous) for the focal image. Not only was it perfect for procrastinators like me, it's also a wonderful version of the White Rabbit of Alice in Wonderland fame. Plus, it's vaguely Steampunk to boot and you know that I do love me some Steampunk!

Hare in a Hurry was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine crafts and colored with Copic markers. I'm fairly certain that I added a few layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura) over the watches, but it's been a bit of time and I'm a bit hare-brained (pun intended).

The image panel was die-cut with one of the dies from the 5x7 Card Creator die set (Spellbinders). The next largest die was used to die-cut yellow/tan polka dotted patterned paper from the Vintage Double Dot 6x6 pad (Bo-Bunny).

Blue flower and clock patterned paper from the Time Keeper 6x6 pad (Marion Smith Designs) was layered over golden yellow patterned paper from the Once Upon a Springtime 8x8 pad (Graphic 45). Gold metallic cardstock was die-cut with one of the dies from the Rope and Chain die set (All Occasions and placed over the the seam between the two patterned papers. The Hare in a Hurry matted image panel was adhered to the card front.

Black metallic specialty paper was die-cut with clock-hands and Alice's Clock Statement Corner dies. The die-cuts were placed in opposite corners of the card front and the card was adhered to a 5x7 card.

By the way, the finished card and the document sat on my printer all throughout the Thanksgiving through winter holiday blur (included family birthdays, Christmas, Chanukah, New Year's parties, estate stuff,  dental work) and finally mailed it last week as a belated birthday/holiday card. Thankfully the recipient is a good natured lady with a keen sense of humor.

What's Mew?

Here's a card featuring Cat Faceone of the great animal stamps by  I Brake for Stamps. I had to have Cat Face because she looks like my late beloved Duchess, who was a Tabby/Ragdoll blend. You can see Duchess in a photo on the right sidebar.

Cat Face was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) and colored with Copic markers. I was trying to get Cat Face to have her coloration resemble Duchess', but the kitty morphed into a dilute Tortie. I'll be trying again for sure.

Black cardstock was die-cut with a Rectangle Frame die (Die-namics) and a fancy tag die (Spellbinders). Letters for the sentiment were die-cut from rust colored cardstock using the Upper and Lower Case Alphabet die sets (All Occasion).

Since domestic cats are related to wild cats, I decided to use a leopard print patterned paper from the Safari Adventure 8x8 pad (Graphic 45), which I die-cut with the Polaroid die (KaiserCraft). Black Soot Distress ink (Ranger) was used to edge the die-cut.

I Brake for Stamps has a wide variety of awesome rubber stamps, plus some fabulous digital stamps too. Click on my badge below to be whisked over there to check out all of the goodies! Hello ATC

The theme of this week's Stampotique Designer's Challenges (#264) is "Anything Goes". Coincidentally, the theme for the Stampotique Facebook Group ATC Swap is also "Anything Goes", so I used the same materials and the same color scheme as yesterday's card to create my ATC.

Here's my ATC with Hello (Maryse Carrier).

Hello was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, edged with a black marker, and layered onto the patterned paper, which is a two sided sheet from the Communiqué collection (Graphic 45).

This is probably the shortest blog post I've ever written! Huzzah!

Offwhite Copic-friendly cardstock was die-cut with a Roladex die (BossKut), then stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts), and colored with Copic markers.

Dark red cardstock was cut down to create an A2 card. The excess cardstock was die-cut with a Telephone die (Sizzix) and the Hello die (Elizabeth Craft Designs).

Striped patterned paper from the Communiqué collection (Graphic 45) was edged with Tea Dye Distress ink (Ranger), then adhered to another piece of patterned paper from that collection.  The card front was edged with Black Soot Distress ink and mounted onto the red card.

The red phone cord and the stamped Roladex card were adhered to the card front. Then the sentiment was added to complete the card.

Cheers!

Champagne Pearlone of I Brake for Stamps' fantastic Humorous Seniors stamp collection, is toasting 2017.

Champagne Pearl was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts) and colored with Copic markers to match the patterned paper from a 6x6 pad. Clear Stardust Glitter pen (Sakura) added some sparkle to Champagne Pearl's champagne flute. Lavender and Lilac Spica Glitter pen (Copic) were used to add sparkle to Champagne Pearl's earrings and necklace.

The image panel was die-cut with one of the dies from the Card Creator 5x7 Nestabilities set (Spellbinders), then matted with lavender cardstock die-cut with one of the dies from the Long Scalloped Rectangles die set (Spellbinders).

A scrap of the patterned paper was die-cut with the Double Scallop Border die (Die-namics). Silver glitter cardstock (DCWV) was die-cut with a stitched border die from one of the Blueprints die sets (Die-Namics). Purple glitter cardstock was die-cut with one of the dies from the Rope and Die Chain die set (All Occasions). The purple glitter chain die-cut was adhered to the silver glitter die cut, which was then layered onto the patterned paper die-cut.

The matted image panel was adhered over the layered border die onto the patterned paper card front.

White cardstock was die-cut twice with a champagne flute die, colored with Copic markers, then adhered atop the stitched silver border die-cut. Clear Stardust Glitter pen was used to add bubbles to the champagne die-cuts and above the die-cuts to mimic the image.

Lavender cardstock was die-cut with the often-used Cheers die (Elizabeth Craft Designs) and adhered to the card front. The card front was then adhered to a lavender A2 card.

I Brake for Stamps is where you'll find the fabulous Humorous Seniors stamp collection, plus lots of other stamp companies. Click on my badge below to be whisked over there to check out all of the goodies! Word Up Weekend with Stampotique!

I know that I've been MIA from the Blogosphere for the last little while. The holidays were relatively insane and were complicated by a bunch of family fun, some estate messiness, and some relatively nasty dental work. Take care of your teeth. Really.

If you've been here at all, you know that 2016 was not the best year for me, which definitely impacted my crafting time. I'm hoping that 2017 will be much better in all regards for all of us and will be filled with love, laughter, health, happiness, peace, and prosperity!

Stampotique's Facebook Group has started "Word-Up Weekends" where we share projects created with Stampotique's many Words, Phrases, Letters, and Numbers.

Here's my entry for the week featuring Love and Laughter (Carol's Collection),  Happy, Happy (Janet Klein), and Whisker Monster with Sign (Kira Nichols).

The Whisker Monster with Sign was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Imagine Crafts). Using my stamp positioner, Happy, Happy was stamped onto Whisker Monster'sign. Many of the text stamps fit perfectly onto his sign, which makes him ever so useful and versatile.

The Whisker Monster with Sign was colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and edged with a black marker. Several layers of Clear Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura) were added to Whisker Monster's horn, teeth, and claws. He was set aside while I created the rest of the card.

Old double-sided patterned paper was die-cut with the Polaroid Frame die (Kaiser Craft). The polka-dotted patterned paper was the reverse of the yellow patterned paper. Brown-wood patterned paper was adhered over the bottom part of the polka dotted paper and a Whisker Monster was placed atop it, and a shadow was traced with a Copic marker. He was set aside again and the layered polka dot paper was edged with Fossilized Amber Distress ink (Ranger).

The Polaroid Frame die cut was also edged with the Fossilized Amber Distress ink, then adhered to a yellow pre-made A2 card from my stash. Love and Laughter was stamped with Jet Black Archival ink under the aperture of the Polaroid Frame die-cut.

Yellow cardstock matching the pre-made card was die-cut with a Happy New Year die (Cottage Cutz), an ampersand (QuicKutz), and my new Birthday Balloons die (Die-namics). Black cardstock was also die-cut with the the same die. The sentiment die-cuts were adhered to the card front. Simply Sweet Rub-Ons (Doodlebug Designs) were used to add 2017 to one of the balloons.

Whisker Monster with Sign was adhered to the card front, the balloon strings were tucked under his paw, and the balloons were adhered to finish the card.
