Do you have huge piles of junk mail? Do you recycle them only to have the pile miraculously reapppear the next day because you've gotten in another whole mailbox filled with junk?
Before you recycle that pile, grab some of it and reuse it in a stamping or paper crafting project.
The black card:I used
flora hugabundous and the
fishbowl for this project.I took one of the annual reports from some company or another, spritzed it with different color Glimmer Mists, and then stamped on them using and the fishbowl. I used Prismacolor markers to color the innards of the flower and Spica pens to add some "bling". The paper is very thin and wouldn't hold up very well to being cut, so I ran some old stamped cardstock (from projects were the stamping wasn't good), through my Xyron, adhered the stamped papers, and then cut out the flowers and bowl.
I made my own shimmer mist for the charcoal gray background by mixing Black Soot Distress Ink, Pearl Perfect Pearls, and water in a Mini Mister. I finished the card by using some scraps of FiberMark Bling paper and another piece of cardstock from my "scrap pile".
The Cupcake card:I took a pile of white envelopes, letters from charities, response cards, etc. and dumped them into a pan that was filled with coffee that was at the bottom of the pot. I let them soak for awhile and then dried them. I ran a piece of the colored card through my Big Kick in a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then inked the raised dots with Fired Brick Distress Ink. I took another piece of the card and stamped the
strawberry cupcake on it, colored the cupcake wrapper with Prismacolor pencils, colored cake/frosting with shimmery chalks, and then colored the strawberry with Prismacolor pencils and markers. I then added a touch of shimmer with the black Spica pen. I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to edge all pieces and to color the ribbon.
I hope you participate in my challenge so that you can have a shot to win one of the great prizes! You're not limited to using justjohana stamps. Share your creation on your blog and the gallery at
