Same, but different!
It's the same focal image and the same patterned paper, but I changed the layout and size of the card as well as the colorant.
The ship and sentiment stamps are from the "Homeward Bound" set by Bombshell Stamps. This time I colored the image and background with chalk pencils. I like this sunset better, but after seeing a glorious one last night, I realize that I still need to work on it. Chalks were fun to use and I like the soft look of the image. I still want to play with this stamp using colored pencils and then Copic markers, though I am running out of that specific map patterned paper. Luckily, I seem to have a lot of map-themed patterned paper.
I realize that the brads on the sentiment block (which is popped up) are not terribly straight. Oh well. I need to improve my stabbing-through-the-ruler skills. :D
So, which do card do you like better?
Thanks for visiting today!

I love the blue sky you created on this one! :D
ReplyDeleteOOOH!
ReplyDeleteI too love the sky on this one and the little details like the brads in the photo corner and the sentiment.
I think the first one is my favorite because there is more white caps on the waves and it brings my eye to the water a bit more. I also love the rough distressed edges on that card. It reminds me of slivery deck planks.
That said, this card has a much more formal feel to it and would be marvelous for a man's birthday or a retirement party.
Both are brilliant. Great job!
I love the rough water and the paler sky on the first card...it really looked like a day at sea.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous!
I really do like both cards, but the one I like best is the first one. So far. And that's only because the colors are more vibrant. I can't wait to see what this looks like in Copics and Prismas.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great you are doing this same image all these different ways.
This one looks great too, great job with the colouring!
ReplyDeleteLove this one as well!
ReplyDeleteI like both but my favorite it the first one :) Awsome card
