Warm Winter Wishes???

It's not winter yet, but one would think that it would be colder than it is right now. But I'm not complaining (about the weather). I prefer mild winters since I no longer ice skate, sled, or do anything depicted in this card.

Yeah. If I ever tried to sled while wearing ice skates, I most likely would not be here writing this blog post. Just sayin'.

Anyways, meet Winona Loves Winter from the Uptown Collection by Stamping Bella. Winona and a whole crowd of her Uptown Girlfriends are now available at SCACD.

Winona was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic markers which I'll list below. The snow around her was also colored with Copics. Touches of Gelly Roll Stardust Pure Glitter Clear Pen were added to provide some sparkle to the snow. A silver metallic pen was used on the blades of her ice skates.

The sky was sponged in with Pebbles Shimmery Pastel Palette Chalk. Sadly, the photo does not show the shimmer of the sky or the glittery parts of the snow. Bummer.

SCACD's Garden Corners were brushed with Ice Silkz Acrylic Glaze (Luminarte's Glazes on SALE right now!)to add some shimmer. Punched metallic white snowflakes were added atop the corners and ginormous rhinestones finished 'em off.

The sentiment was stamped with Black Onyx VersaFine ink onto metallic white cardstock. It was die cut with QuicKutz dies and layered atop a big snowflake Sizzlet die cut.

The patterned papers are from the Winter Wishes 6x6 pad by Echo Park and very, very, very old, ancient KI paper. I added Holographic Border stickers to update the look.

I shall be entering this card in the following challenges:

  1. Welcome to the "Let It Snow" Challenge - That is a really fun image Kat - and really nicely colored! In a skirt, in skates and on a sled - LOL! Won't catch me doing that either! Thank you for sharing with us at Craft Your Passion!

  2. Kathi, this has to be one of the craziest images I have ever seen. Who in their right mind would wear a skirt on a sled, to say nothing of the skates? I think this girl has been smoking something, KWIM? Anyway, you did a fab job of coloring her and I love the colors you used--such pretty paper & border stickers & your die cuts. :^)

  4. Such a cute card. I can just picture some little girl trying to wear her skates as she sleds. Your right about it though, it would be the death of me (especially since I never learned to skate). I do still sled, Can't let the kids have all the fun. Here's hoping for snow

  6. She may be a bit heavy on the winter sports accessories but you've coloured her up beautifully and I love the colour scheme you picked :)
