Bombshell's New Release Blog Hop!

As you know, Bombshell Stamps has two new stamp sets, Indian Princess and Indian Warrior.

In honor of their release, the Bombshell Girls are having a blog hop to showcase the versatility of these new sets! You should have gotten here from the brilliant Torrey's blog, where I am sure you were totally wowed.

Here's my card, which is a 4x4!

This card is actually my third try to create something that didn't make me want to hurl. I first tried to do a repoussage piece. But that didn't work because I'm still a newbie on the metal learning curve.

Then I tried to transfer my image onto Stampbord so I could make some etched feathers. That didn't work either. Digital does have its applications, but neither technique I wanted to do worked with the digis. Bother!!!

I colored the Indian Warrior with Copic markers using the E70 series for his face and neck, a variety of Rs, Bs, and BGs. Then I decided to get clever and sponge some Distress ink around the edges without masking the image. I should know better. I am clearly NOT a clever genius! I vote me off the island. I will have to pack my knives and/or my case and go home. Or out in the rain and winds from Sandy. Or something like that. Maybe I'll just sit in the corner and pout.

So, I ended up sponging Pumice Stone all over the image. Spritzed it with water. Heat set it with my new replacement heat tool. Sponged Worn Lipstick. Spritzed. Heat set. Sponged Tea Dye. Spritzed. Heat set. Sponged Peacock Feathers. Spritzed. Heat set. Sponged Chipped Sapphire. Spritzed Heat set. Spritzed with Gold Perfect Misty Stuff. Heat set. Noticed some blotches. Spritzed with water. Heat set. Still there. Gave up.

Cut a bunch of pinked circles and regular circles using the Nestabilities and gold and black metallic cardstock. Got bored. Glued it down. Rounded the edges. Declared it done. Woot. Took photos. Can't see the utter shimmeriness of it all. !@#$%^&*#

Wrote this. Posted it late. Bad me. More sitting outside getting Sandy for me!

So, if you've gotten lost along the way, here's the hop list.

  1. I love this!! Despite all your problems and restarts, I think it turned out fabulous. Would never have known you had any problems if you hadn't said something. The pinked circles alternating with the plain circles is the perfect background.

  3. Beautiful card Kathi! I love your coloring of the Indian Chief and the background. The gold on the nesting die cuts is a great touch!

I had issues with my card vision too, I blame it on Sandy!

  8. Ok, well I normally go with pouting but up to you. I love your card! I think the pointy edges remind me of the geometric shapes you find on so many American Indian objects. You may complain if you like but I think it is wonderful.
