Hooray! It's the January Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop!

Hi and welcome to this stop on the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, Inky/Angela has decreed that the theme would be "Alternative Medicine" -- where we were challenged to use our Bombshell Stamps to create altered and/or decorated objects.

My project is a card box that started life as a plain cardboard box that was big enough to hold 5.5" x 3.5" cards.

The Card Box

The Front of the Box

The Back of the Box

The Top of the Box

The Sides of the Box

The box was sprayed with a combination of Black Soot Distress Ink, Blue Perfect Pearls Powder, Pewter Perfect Pearls Powder (all Ranger products), and water. While that was drying, I painted the Grungeboard (Advantus) swirls (mini & regular Harlequin) and the mini-puzzle pieces with an Adirondack Gold Dabber. When the paint was dry, I dabbed Rocket Red Gold Brilliance ink (Tsukineko) lightly over to add some red tones. I also used the Gold Paint dabber to color the white and red Prima flowers and to add some gold highlights to the Scrabble® tiles and the dice.

I made the Queen of Hearts cards by stamping either the Bombshell Pin-up or the Pirate Wench over the floral swag and adding crowns stamped in Rocket Red Gold Brilliance ink (Tsukineko) to their heads. I colored both images with Copic markers, then added the "Q" with rub-ons. The heart under the "Q"s were stamped in Rocket Red Gold Brilliance ink.

I stamped a Center Pin Stripe on either side of the box and heat embossed them with Queen's Gold embossing powder (Ranger). The hearts and crowns were stamped in Rocket Red Gold Brilliance and heat embossed with Chinese Gold Embossing Powder (Ranger).

I used semi-sheer harlequin pattered ribbon with German Scrap borders (the Gold lacey foil stuff from Artchix Studio)on the side of the box's lid. I embellished the entire box with a ton of pearls (Recollections) and rhinestones (various manufacturers).

Here is a list of the stamps that I used:
• Bombshell Pin-up from the Bombshell Angel set
• Pirate Pin-Up Girl from A Pirate's Life set
• Blossom Banner from the Bombshell Angel set
• Heart from the Love & Luck set
• Crown from the Speed Shop set
• Center Pin Stripe from the Striped by Me set

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Now mosey over to the other Hump Day Hoppers. I'm sure there's some serious eye candy!

Remember! Each time you comment, you get entered for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Bombshell Stamps. Don't forget that the Hump Day Hops are now once-a-month on the last Wednesday and the public can hop along with the Bombshell Stamps DT. How cool is that? <---Very cool!

  8. You've given me a great idea with that wonderful box of yours! I have several plain, ugly, metal index card boxes that could use a little "spiffin' up". Now, where are those stamps.......
