Flowers & Skulls. Perfect together.

I'm going to redo this as a pin. I think it would be nifty.

The stamp is justjohanna's lovely skull n bones (I masked off the bones). The paper is 7 Gypsies. The flower is Heidi Swapp. The skull was colored with pencil and then I inked the edges of the circle with Distress Ink.

Feeling blue?

Funny how these things work. The blue cow would have been perfect for yesterday, especially if she had red edges. Yesterday was NOT a good day at all. Lots of things seemed to be going badly. I was in a rather bad mood.

Today's another story. I found a replacement for something I needed for an assignment. I found out that I was NOT a victim of mail fraud. However, I'm still feeling slightly blue. I think it's allergies, fatigue, and fun hormones.

Anyways, the card features justjohanna's new chubby cow, who is fun to color in non-cow colors.

Aloha. Want to get lei'd?

That was probably totally inappropriate, but I'm in an odd mood.

It's a gorgeous day here. The sun is shining. It's warm. And everything is blooming. Hence, it was good time to post this card featuring Aloha Priscilla, sporting beautimous flowers, posing in front of a travel poster (actually Flair paper). I made this card in a hotel room, whilst the teenager was enjoying an overnight college visit. Oddly enough (since I had 65,002 tons of stuff with me, I did not have any alphabet anything. Therefore, there's no "aloha" sentiment. In my mind, there is. Just picture it running vertically on the right side. OK?

Hope you're having a great day and aren't deeply offended by my vulgarity.

No bull!

It's no bull. justjohanna's new cow stamps just crack me up. I've been having such fun making terrible punny greetings for them and coloring them various colors. This one is called chubby cow left. Isn't she cute?

The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils. The papers are old, old, old papers by Junkitz and pretty shimmery paper from SEI. The tape and the tape font are by Around the Block.

Winner! Winner! Winner!

Thanh has won my "Stamp Out Junk" challenge for the justjohanna Earth Day Celebration!

Congratulations! See her card here!

Better late than never!

There were so many great challenges and samples posted by my teammates during the justjohanna Earth Day celebration. The participants created some totally wonderful cards. I'm just completely inspired by it all!

However, since I had family doings all weekend, I was unable to participate fully. So I've decided to continue to do the challenges and try to conserve, reduce, re-use, and recycle all sorts of things to use in my papercrafting.

This window scene from this card came from the Country Curtains catalog, which came in the mail. That means that the card works for my "Stamp Out Junk" challenge and Kim F's "Stamp on Photos" challenge. Yahoo!

Anyways, I stamped two priscilla minis using Palette Noir ink. I colored the kitties with my black Prismacolor marker to obliterate their faces, so it looked as though they were looking out the window! The marker ink was a bit translucent, so I had to build layers. Because I stamped on the coated stock of magazine/catalog paper, the ink stayed tacky a bit longer. I got some on my fingers and transferred the ink to the left side of the window. I solved that dilemma by strategically placing the heart over the fingerprints. "friends" came from "I couldn't have pecked a better friend".

Consider joining me in completing some more of the Earth Day challenges. Visit the Earth Day gallery for inspiration. Be sure to share your results there too. Your prize will be completed projects and reducing waste.

Stamp Out Junk!

Do you have huge piles of junk mail? Do you recycle them only to have the pile miraculously reapppear the next day because you've gotten in another whole mailbox filled with junk?

Before you recycle that pile, grab some of it and reuse it in a stamping or paper crafting project.

The black card:
I used flora hugabundous and the fishbowl for this project.I took one of the annual reports from some company or another, spritzed it with different color Glimmer Mists, and then stamped on them using and the fishbowl. I used Prismacolor markers to color the innards of the flower and Spica pens to add some "bling". The paper is very thin and wouldn't hold up very well to being cut, so I ran some old stamped cardstock (from projects were the stamping wasn't good), through my Xyron, adhered the stamped papers, and then cut out the flowers and bowl.

I made my own shimmer mist for the charcoal gray background by mixing Black Soot Distress Ink, Pearl Perfect Pearls, and water in a Mini Mister. I finished the card by using some scraps of FiberMark Bling paper and another piece of cardstock from my "scrap pile".

The Cupcake card:
I took a pile of white envelopes, letters from charities, response cards, etc. and dumped them into a pan that was filled with coffee that was at the bottom of the pot. I let them soak for awhile and then dried them. I ran a piece of the colored card through my Big Kick in a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then inked the raised dots with Fired Brick Distress Ink. I took another piece of the card and stamped the strawberry cupcake on it, colored the cupcake wrapper with Prismacolor pencils, colored cake/frosting with shimmery chalks, and then colored the strawberry with Prismacolor pencils and markers. I then added a touch of shimmer with the black Spica pen. I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to edge all pieces and to color the ribbon.

I hope you participate in my challenge so that you can have a shot to win one of the great prizes! You're not limited to using justjohana stamps. Share your creation on your blog and the gallery at justjohanna's message board and then post a comment here with a link to your creation.

You have until MIDNIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT (4/20) to complete this and all other challenges!

I'll be posting my challenge winner on Monday morning (edt).

Have fun with the challenge!

My time is the night time!

I'll be posting my challenge at ~9:00 p.m. pdt, so it seemed appropriate to post this old card (appropriated by the night owl teenager).

Meanwhile, I sure hope you're visiting the Earth Day thread at justjohanna's message board/forum so that you can find out about all the really great challenges that my team members are hosting! Their challenges are fun and their samples are awesome!

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

While the teenager decides between two colleges, I'll be deciding which card to use for her graduation announcement/party invitation. I'll likely be making a prototype, scanning it, and then printing it since it would be way too time consuming to create 50 of them!

You can help me choose:
A: The one cloud version but reconfigured to a rectangle and without the ribbon.
B: The multi-cloud version but without the ribbon.
C: The monochromatic version.

I'll post the results of the teenager's decision and the card decision!

Birthday cheer!

I made this card for a friend who was celebrating her 40th birthday. Her favorite color is orange, so this card totally screams "orange".

I wanted to see if the other-tini fit in the billboard of my beloved work van right. Yep. With the help of a little masking, it fit, which made me smile.

To widen my smile and to commemorate the 40th "over-the-hill" theme, I stamped swirly hearts, flowers (flower power), and skulls in orange ink onto the circles in the Basic Grey paper.

The truck driver is chester parrot right. I only used part of him. He usually holds a present in his talons. He's way cute and comes in right and left facing versions. Cool, eh? Yep. Very.

The sentiment is a combo of "cheers" and "happy bird day".

I just realized that the design of this card is screamingly similar to the card below this. Too bad, so sad. If you can't "case" yourself, who can you case?!?

Most importantly, my friend liked the card!

Time for tea!

I'm infatuated with work van right and am having way too much fun trying to fit stuff into it. Anyways, I also love the grand teacup stamp because I love any beverage that has caffeine in it. Yes. Sad but true, I'm a caffeine junkie.

Anyways, the scan is wonky because the charm (which I've had forever), added bulk and is reflective too. My scanner hates bulky and/or shiny stuff. So the card got the double whammy. I really ought to have photographed it. Oh well.

Both stamps are from justjohanna.

Roll, now rock!

I should have posted this card first so that I would have had a "Rock" card before a "Rolling" card. Oh well.

The standing brodies, aka brody no drum left & right, are two of the new justjohanna releases. I love brody, so I was doubly thrilled when his brothers joined the band.

The brodies were all colored with Prismacolor markers and I used some old, but loved Basic Grey.

You rock for visiting my blog today!
